5 reviews for Samsung 2020 55″ TU7020 Crystal UHD 4K HDR Smart TV, works with Alexa

    Ours is the 65” model.

We were a bit hesitant to buy this – especially due a few dodgy reviews but I’ll put most of them down to being damaged during delivery. Our delivery drivers were great though and appeared very careful with it.

The worst part of the whole experience was getting the thing out of the box. You definitely need two people that aren’t prone to arguing. After that it was plain sailing.

The remote is great. Has a built in Netflix and prime button and works with the two apps seamlessly. It’s a remote so not much more to be said.

As far as the actual TV goes, we love it! The picture quality is 10x better than our 5 year old Samsung. Depth of colour and detail in the shadows are much improved. I’m not saying it’ll blow a lot of the newer tv’s out the water but as far as picture quality goes, for the price you can’t complain at all.

Setting up the TV took about 10 mins all in and it works great with the app. We also have ours working through the Alexa so we can do a couple things using Alexa commands – though sometimes it doesn’t let me do some commands via Alexa. For when Alexa has fallen out with you, you can still use the app as a remote so as long as you have your phone handy you don’t need to go to the other side of the couch for the remote.

Again, we got the 65” model and this thing is HUGE. We have a 1.8m tv table and this thing takes up a decent amount of it. It is help upright by two not so sturdy looking feet but we’ve had no wobbling troubles etc so far.

Sound quality is also great, again compared to the old TV it’s next level. The bass is MUCH deeper and it seems to handle audio better than the old one. We were thinking about a sound bar initially but now we don’t think we need one.

All in all, great value for money – if the delivery drivers keep it in one piece!

We obtained this 75 inch TV in December 2021. Always wanted a big telly, and when could afford one, bought it. Very good picture quality, still learning with how to use all its features. Was a bit of a task for my wife and myself getting it out of the box, and putting it on the stand, as weights a ton!. Moving on the future, don’t look forward to repackaging it. I would recommend this to anyone. My games machines and dvd look great.

Excellent TV, superb picture quality and smooth motion. This easily compares to TV’s costing double the price in terms of the viewing experience. The only thing that could be a problem is that it only has 2 HDMI inputs which could be a faff if you have multiple peripheral equipment that you want to use. I have avoided this issue with an AV cinema receiver with multiple HDMI inputs, so everything is connected to that and in turn the AV receiver is connected to the TV. This is a great option as the TV uses smart tech to work in harmony with the receiver, adjusting the volume or turning the TV off automatically controls the receiver too. It’s a huge screen but not heavy considering the size and is quite happy attached to the wall on a basic wall bracket.

Other reviews have mentioned a delay with the remote control interacting with the TV which may be a bug that has been fixed or just a random issue with a few units. I have no delay or problems with the remote so don’t be put off by those reviews, it’s not an inherent flaw.

As it’s 4K it gets the most out of Sky Q and games and movies played on a connected PS5 look sharp and smooth, even during the most hectic of scenes.

I paid £699 when it was on sale but even at £799 it’s still a lot of TV for the money.

Unless you really need 3+ HDMI inputs, save your money and buy this one, or use the money you save to buy an AV receiver and you won’t even need the extra inputs.

At this price, it’s not a bad option. Would have been better to spend a few more pounds though and get a more modern model. I bought this specific one since at the time most other comparable models were out of stock.
The most important feature – picture quality – is pretty good. Sound is of course worthless as with all thin TVs, so get some speakers. Smart features are laggy and limited and remote seems like it’s from the 1990s. The initial smart setup worked but was a bit long. The wifi worked well for a short while but soon the TV lost it and was never able to connect again (I’d had to factory-reset it if I wanted it back).
Since I’m using this as just a screen with external sound and streaming, the lack of those doesn’t bother me a lot.
Also has very few connections but again, to be expected at this price.
NOTICE — When connecting sound via Optical, there’s no volume control from the TV, so make sure your device has its own volume adjustment.

Bought the 50” model for my parents last year and it is a good TV. This one (55”) is slightly newer software but fundamentally the same Samsung ecosystem. Straightforward smart features for the most part).

Main limitations for more ambitious home entertainment systems are that there’s only 2 HDMI inputs (easily enough overcome with a splitter), the only external audio output is digital optical (no 3.5mm), and the integration with external home assistant devices (in my case with an Amazon Echo Dot) can be a bit fiddly and limited.

The digital optical audio in particular is a little annoying as you can’t (as far as I can see) control the volume using the remote when using an external audio set up rather than the built in TV speakers. The built in ones are absolutely fine on their own for most folk though.

Make sure your TV console is wide and deep enough for the feet to sit properly on it if you aren’t wall mounting.
