My Surprise…MORE THAN AN AIR FRYER! As an Air Fryer novice, I must say that I was pleasantly surprised to see enticing photos, on the box of the CRUX 3.7QT Air Fryer, of food that was baked, roasted or air fried. To say that I am excited to experiment with new ways to prepare meals, that do not include heating up the kitchen in the heat of summer, may be quite the understatement!! The simple, shiny, and sleek design is appealing. There are some recipe ideas, in the booklet, that sound interesting. Simplicity of use is extremely wonderful: set the temperature, then the cooking time, and that’s it. The booklet shows a chart that details cooking instructions for most types of food. But, I noticed that the beef roast, as pictured on the box, was missing. My first attempt was making frozen thin cut veggie fries. There was a noticeable odor, per operating instructions. The end result was encouraging and they were done quicker than if I had baked them in the regular oven. The only moving part is a round crisping tray that had three silicone type feet. It is so snug that those pieces moved a bit, against the side of the frying basket, as I seated it on the bottom. Clean up is easy peasy. This size looks to be just right for meals for two.

As someone who used to use the oven and hob when cooking full meals, I opted for the larger air fryer to see if I could cook full meals in it. Turns out I can!
Being vegan, I typically cook tofu, homemade fries, and beans/veg (last 3 minutes) all within 15-20 minutes with minimal clean up.
Since receiving this air fryer 10 days ago, I have not touched the oven/hob or any other cooking appliance besides the microwave. Game changer!

I previously had the original actifry but couldn’t afford one when mine broke – this was a fraction of the cost and is just as good. No rotating arm but I don’t find this to be an issue unless completely full (when you need to move things halfway through) – I’m generally only cooking for 2 so not an issue.

Love my Air Fryer! This air fryer is awesome. In the summer, I don’t like to use my oven as much. The Air Fryer allows me to cook the food that I love without heating my house up. I made french fries and it cooked them quicker, crispier and they tasted better without adding extra oil or making the house hot. I have cooked vegetables, chicken and even toast in the air fryer with excellent results. In the past, my husband would actually leave the room while I used my previous air fryer due to the noise. The crux was a pleasant surprise in that it was much quieter. I gave it a four star instead of five due to the fryer not having the preset digital cooking settings. I am, however,, finding that it is very easy to use with less buttons/choices. It is simpler to use for even the technically challenged individual. I love this air fryer because it is quick, quiet, cooks food evenly and is a real time saver during my busy life.

The last thing I thought I needed was another appliance to find a home for in my tiny kitchen. But as my kids schedules get busier and busier I figured I would give a try to what everyone raves about. My first air fryer is a combination toaster oven, rotisserie, air fryer combo, so as not to take up any more kitchen real estate. But I could never get a good handle on how to use the air fryer option. After trying the Crux 3.7 qt Air Fryer, I see that I have been missing out. This seems to heat a bit better than the air fryer combo, thus making French fries crispier than we had before. The basket is very roomy and I like being able to shake the contents with a handle vs.using an oven mitt. There are also so many recipes that seem to use this style air fryer, which now opens up the availability for more recipes and less guessing on adjustments. Even though I do like being able to see inside the air fryer combo through the window, and I feel like the toaster oven combo sits on the counter better, I am really excited to add the Crux air fryer to my appliance cabinet.

If you are not sure about having an air flyer, try this one. It works great for a beginner, one or two people, and it’s not real big.
