This is suitable for a one person home. Easy to use and economical to run.
Isn’t too big so won’t take up much counter space.
The interior is so easy to keep clean (even if you don’t have liners) but don’t submerge the fryer drawer part as the handle retains water and it’ll take a while for this to drip dry. Other than that it’s a suburb little addition to your kitchen.
I think it’s good value for money and does exactly what a more expensive model does.

I bought this as a moving in gift for my dad. Without divulging a life story, this little fryer is perfect for him – lone male, 70+ and 1 year post stroke. He can quickly and easily fry off burgers, sausages, bacon etc. with minimal mess, fuss and expense. Ideal gadget with easy to use dials. Air fryer without all the bells and whistles he doesn’t need. Just does the job. Thank you.

Hi I bought this for our student daughter as she’s in digs and is health and electricity cost-conscious

She doesn’t fry anything but uses it to just cook things like jacket potato, part baked rolls and really anything that needs heat to cook as in an oven, but for one or two at a stretch.
That said, she did cook some sauages for her boyfriend, and as the tray inside can be positioned a little up from the bottom, that allowed the hot air to circulate all around the sausages cooking them more quickly and the fat to drop through.

It’s ideal to save time because she can cook something else like veg in a pan whilst this is cooking meat for example.

I don’t own one and it was a real eye opener as to what it can cook, so really happy with it.
I might get one anyway to just cut down on electricity cost as we currently cook our three part-baked dinner rolls in a 4kw oven, what a waste of electricity!

My choice of this one was led by the fact that there’s too many button-types out there and essentially all you need to know is how long at what temperature, so two rotary dials make that easy to use.
I’ve found in the past that on some ovens/cookers, the digital screens go wrong or the buttons stop working, so that influenced my decision here.

Lastly, it’s made by Salter, a professional brand in the kitchen and one I trust.
So far my daughter is delighted with it and cooks almost eclusively on it having found way more uses than those I’ve detailed here.

This Salter EK2817 2L Compact Air Fryer is a great introduction to Air Fryers if you’re unsure about if you’d use one.

It’s on the smaller end of the scale, perfect for 1-2 people, and takes up very little space on a work surface. Due to its small size, it cooks very efficiently, needing slightly less time than bigger models I’ve used. Everything comes out perfectly cooked and crispy! Compact but powerful and sleek looking!

Simple to use, especially if you aren’t a fan of digital screens – this only has two dials one for temperature and one for time. The non stick surface allows for easy cleaning and the device is fantastic value for money! Would strongly recommend

Living on my own now and the wrong side of 60, I was very sceptical of these new fangled air fryer things. I wish I had bought this ages ago. I now enjoy browned, crisp juicy chicken once more.

Bought this 2L one (EK2817) because it was small; with a footprint of about 8 inches x 8 inches and 10 inches tall. It has a round pull-out non-stick pan which is 6.5 inches in diameter and 3 inches deep. It is surprising what you can fit in there; a couple of chicken thighs alongside a couple of sausages with some chips.

It is rated at 1000 watts at just over 4amps: so it should use about 1KwH (a unit) in one hour; normal cooking time is about 15/20 minutes, so four meals should cost roughly one unit [for comparison: watching some TVs for six hours can also consume one unit]

When it arrives, follow the set up card – wipe it off, plug it in and turn it up and on for a few minutes to shed that new appliance smell.

The main instruction book is online but can be downloaded. Basically turn the thing up to temperature and turn the timer to three minutes. One led tells you it is switched on, the other goes out when it is up to the set temperature. When it is at temperature throw your food in, frozen food is no issue, set the timer for about half the cooking time. The led will go on and off as it maintains the temperature. When timer sounds its very loud ‘bing’ have a look, shake it, turn it over etc or add the stuff that needs to cook for a lesser time. It cooks anything; battered, breaded, vegetables, Yorkshire puddings, bread – just chuck it in. If you are going to add oil, very little is needed – one of those single spray things is ideal

Timer can be turned up but not down. Temperature you can adjust at any time. Unit switches off when timer stops or the pan is pulled out. Pan has a perforated removable shelf; oil and surplus juices drains through this into the bottom of the pan; you cannot tip your cooked food out without risking the oil following it onto your plate. A pair of tongs is really helpful. Case becomes warm to touch and warm/hot air comes out underneath so, if you want to warm your plates, leave them beside the base!

Cleaning is simple; a little detergent and some boiling water and leave it to soak. When the water is cool enough, pull out the shelf if you have used it and sponge/rinse/dry. Then rinse the pan itself out and you’re done. Non-stick coating is really good. Unit has a 3 year manufacturer’s warranty.

If you feel you need to line it, a 5.3 inch silicon liner fits well although any liner will stop any juices draining away, is awkward to get out when the pan is hot and is cleaned the same way as the pan. Anything you can put in an oven you can put in this; foil, parchment, cook-in bags etc.

    Very, very impressed
