Veo por los comentarios y preguntas que hay mucha gente que no sabe ni que es, ni para qué sirve, ni como funciona un hervidor de agua. Lo digo sobre todo por los que hablan de hervir leche o cocer pasta ¡Madre mía! Un hervidor de agua sirve única y exclusivamente para eso: Para hervir agua
Tal y como dice el anuncio este hervidor es silencioso. Lo puedo confirmar después de haberlo probado. Otros son más ruidosos seguramente porque son más rápidos. Y aquí viene la parte más importante, porque muchos se quejan de que este hervidor es lento. Y sin duda lo es. Pero hay que entender por qué es lento y las ventajas que eso puede tener. Los hervidores de agua rápidos tienen una potencia de 2.200 W o incluso más. ¿Cuanta potencia tienes contratada tú en casa? Yo tengo 4.000 W contratados. Si enciendo un hervidor de 2.200 W estoy utilizando más de la mitad de la potencia contratada en un solo electrodoméstico y eso lleva a que en cuanto me descuido y hay algo más encendido como la lavadora o el microondas salten los fusibles. Todos los hervidores consumen la misma electricidad a la hora de calentar un litro de agua. la diferencia es la rapidez con que lo hacen. Este es más lento, sí, pero es ideal para utilizar en lugares sin mucha potencia contratada como es mi caso.
El olor a plástico es normal en cualquier hervidor cuando se estrena. Además de los dos hervores a nivel completo aconsejados por el fabricante yo recomiendo hacer uno o dos más con un zumo de limón (colar el zumo antes de añadirlo) y el olor se irá.
Mucha gente comenta que lo ha devuelto después de un tiempo porque se desprendían trozos de plástico que flotaban en el agua. ¡Eso no es plástico! ¡Es cal! Y se forma en todos los hervidores de agua, no importa el precio, el material, la calidad o la potencia. Con el tiempo en el fondo se deposita cal que procede del agua y forma una fina capa blanca que se quita fácilmente haciendo hervir agua con vinagre (limón también sirve) y dejándolo reposar unas horas. Lo que no se debe hacer nunca jamás es raspar la base metálica del hervidor para quitar la cal, ni limpiarlo con esponja o aluminio. Hay que quitar la cal siempre con agua y vinagre y la base estará brillante y como nueva siempre.

Just the Job.. We tripped the electric hookup at a campsite in our motorhome using our existing kettle but the travel type kettle we also used was so slow and small. This kettle is perfect for our needs. Previous reviews have said it’s slow so to be honest I was really impressed with actually how quick it was to boil. Plenty big enough for two very large cups of tea and no embarrassing electric hook up trips on the campsite. Looks really nice and I would buy one for the house as well as it’s so much more cost effective once mine decides to stop working. Definitely recommend this product..
