Great Kettle, works very well, but it’s it is from the US, we already had an adapter so used that as just moved house and could t be dealing with the faff to return it.
Lesson learnt on my side haha

Basically this is a good kettle and for the price great value for money. It has plus points as well as a few negative ones.
Plus points:
* looks good
* fast to boil
* I find it much easier than other kettles to put just the right amount of water in.
* Limescale filter is very easy to clean and does not seem to clog up like other kettles.
Issues:
* Not as strong as a stainless steel kettle. This is the second one we have after the kids broke the first one by knocking it aginst a cupboard (not even that hard!).
* If you want to keep it looking good it needs descaling at least every month, the glass hides nothing!
* Not the most efficient use of electricity, it continue to boild for around 20-30 seconds after switching off, a lot of energy goes into heating the kettle not the water.
* I do wonder how long the plastic lid will last
The fact that it is not as strong as a stainless steel kettle does worry me a bit. If it breaks again then it is probably not the right kettle for us, but that is not really the fault of the product.

Beautiful kettle but the rim literally cracked and snapped off randomly after only 10 months. It is very fragile and the glass is so thin that it shattered into horrible tiny bits everywhere.
Such a pity because it looks so lovely 🙁

Great kettle, easy to use and the blue light when it’s boiling is very pretty

Maragret Newton –
Very pleased with my Russell Hobbs kettle . Easy to fill . Was delivered on time appropriately packaged. I mistakenly pressed the wrong star I think 5 stars are more appropriate.
Oliver Field –
Replacement for a previous one, we love it for its ease of filling and quick boiling.

I always get lots of compliments on this kettle and it also boils so fast!

This is a nice looking kettle with a blue light up glass jug. It boils fast but there were a few issues.
The lid is design where it pulls out completely and you need to put it down to turn the tap on while holding the kettle to fill it. This for me was just annoying and became a bind.
The pouring action was poor. The lip is wide and the water came out in a wide flow and was less than satisfactory.
However the biggest issue: the glass jug on ours broke when being filled. It was being held under the tap and had the slightest knock on the tap as it was being removed causing the glass to smash. This wasn’t done with lack of care and was actually an action which would be repeated several times a day every time it was needing to be filled. It was inevitable that on a few occasions the glass might catch the tap as it was placed under or removed. The knock was very slight and caused immediate failure. Luckily the glass went into the sink and was able to be carefully collected. After this we bought a plastic kettle which seemed a lot safer.
I have had several glass kettles in the past and none have smashed. This one seems particularly susceptible because there is no rim to the jug. It is a fully glass jug right to the pouring lip and edge. This edge is what you need to carefully slide under the tap to fill. Either that or it would be safer to use a plastic jug to fill it. In any case I didn’t want another of this style.
