I returned the unit for a refund due to it being delivered with a foreign electrical plug attached. I’m not a qualified electrician and shouldn’t have to change an items power plug

Returned an el cheapo toaster because of the smell & decided to go Breville, as very happy with the Breville Selecta kettle I recently purchased. What a difference a good toaster makes to breakfast enjoyment. Have gone gluten free since I last owned a toaster & thought the dry offerings my grill turned out was the norm for that type of bread. Revelation this morning. The toaster handles GF fruit bread so well & white GF turned out crispy on the outside & fluffy in the middle. Early days but if things continue in the same vein then am very happy with the purchase.

I don’t leave reviews often and certainly not for slightly uneven toast but there is a major safety concern with the kettle.
Firstly, the toaster is fine (not great, not awful, just meh), it’s pretty mediocre and toasts bread as effectively as most other toasters, unevenly. But I can live with that, even Dualit toasters are pretty uneven.

The kettle is the major concern.
Similar to other reviews here, after 8 months of daily use, the kettle has started to fail and continues boiling until removed from the base regardless of the light switching off or manually pressing the digital switch. I unplugged and retested a few times with the same result. This WILL boil dry if you let it.
I even tested with no water to see if this item will activate an emergency shut-off when too hot. I left the kettle dry for 5 minutes on the base and the heating element did not shut off.

I’ve contacted customer support with no response.

My 11 year old actually originally spotted the issue when I set the kettle to boil and left the room.
The kettle was spluttering boiling water over the kitchen counter and the floor and my son called me in. Fortunately he had enough sense not to go near it and came to get me.
This product is best avoided. From a safety standpoint, it’s not worth the risk especially if you have children in the house.

Large loaf slices don’t fit well into many toasters so wanted 2 slice slots to fit 1 slice of bread from a typical supermarket loaf. This is slightly smaller than the 4 slice/2 slot toaster its replacing, but still just about OK for standard slices.
After just a couple of uses it seems fine but not amazing. The heating element doesn’t look very even when it starts heating. But does seem to toast evenly so far.
The build quality isn’t great, it feels flimsy and I’d expect better at this price point – even at the reduced price. If I’d seen it in a store I’d probably have opted to pay more for something that felt better made.
Early days so need to see how well it does and how well it lasts

If, like me, you have been struggling to find a toaster that actually toasts 100% of a slice of bread, then look no further. I must say that is frustrating that in the 21st century is so difficult to find a toaster that toasts sliced bread properly. The last toaster I bought was much higher priced than this one but like most toasters out there today, only toasted 66% of a slice of bread.
Not only is this Breville toaster more competitively priced than less capable toasters but it is also weighs a lot less, which if you store your toaster away in a cupboard after use, may be a consideration.
The toaster is slightly taller than most to enable it to fit a slice of bread vertically and still toast it all the way to the top and not just two thirds of the way up. The toasting slots on this 2 slice model are also wide enough to allow you to toast your bread in the horizontal position. Handy.
It is not the fastest toaster on the market but it is no slouch either. There is a button on the toaster to press if you are toasting frozen Bread, as well as the standard cancel and reheat buttons.
On the down side there is no warming rack and the cord storage on the bottom of the toaster is next to useless.
The sides of the toaster stay cool apart from the top 3rd which is vented with holes to allow the heat out, so be careful if you move it once you have used it. Overall it looks quite nice, finished in a shiny chrome finish, however this does scratch easily, especially if you are constantly moving the toaster to put it aŵay again when you have finished using it. Again, a decent cord storage would help prevent this.
Overall I’m very happy with the way this toaster performs. A decent cord storage would be nice to have but not essential, after all it’s main function is to toast bread and it does this superbly.

Best toaster I have seen with 2 wide slots meaning it fits thick and large bread in as well as naans and other flat breads. It toasts just fine, got a lift feature and looks good too – thought I would add a review as I am waiting for my toast 😁 I should add I paid £59.99

Very good product i like the red and blue warning lights .. my only concern is that water is trapped under the cap cover if you weigh water for special coffee preparation bare in mind you might shave couple of grams of your boiled water

I’ve never had much luck with toasters—either they break down, trip the electricity, or give me toast that’s burnt on one side and undercooked on the other. But after using this toaster for a couple of months, I’m pleasantly surprised! It’s been performing reliably, and I’m finally getting evenly toasted bread every time.

During the first few uses, I did have to adjust the browning function quite a bit, as it seemed too high. However, after a couple of weeks, it settled down, and I now keep it at around 1/3 of the way up the scale for perfect toast. The touch button icons are intuitive and easy to use, and I’ve made good use of both the crumpet and frozen bread settings. They work exactly as you’d expect, producing great results.

Like many toasters, UK bread loaves can be tricky to fit, but this model’s long slots make a huge difference. It easily accommodates a full slice, and I’ve even managed to fit 1 and 1/2 slices in each slot—perfect for those who enjoy a heartier toasty loaf.

So far, it’s been running like a charm, and I’m hopeful it will continue to do so. I’d definitely recommend this toaster, if only for the fact that it can handle proper slices of bread without the usual hassle!

Good toaster. Toasts evenly and holds above average slices. It’s only brushed steel at the sides though, the front and back are chrome.
