   Great toastie maker, used over a gas hob! After searching for a good toastie maker to use at home & reading negative reviews of expensive electric offerings, I thought I’d give this one a go, for simplicity & being inexpensive. I was not disappointed. The maker came in a box, without any instructions, but it’s pretty self explanatory. The two plates are designed to come apart, and easy to fit together again – hold them at 90 degrees to each other. Very easy to clean.

   I washed the plates with warm soapy water before first use. Used large homemade white bread slices (with top cut off), buttering the sides in contact with the toastie maker plates. Capacity wise, the unit easy fits a standard slice of breaded from a 800g loaf e.g. seeded brown bread (see images). I used a grated cheddar & mozarella cheese mix, and heated the maker for a timed approx two minutes each side, over a medium setting on the big gas hob kitchen burner. You could just hold it, but I have something to hold the toastie maker about 5cm above the cast iron hob platform. Perfect toastie; cripsy bread, & great taste. I need to experiment with different tangy cheese types, but a great start. One side may brown more than the other, but it’s very easy just to check, and if desired equalise the browning by doing one side for a few more seconds.

   I bought this for the caravan as an electric one uses to much power on my solar. This is brilliant. No need to preheat just prepare a sandwich close the lid and bingo… a delicious toastie is done in 3 or 4 minutes.

   Great product. My advice is keep turning over and keep checking your food because it toasts really fast but makes a fantastic grilled cheese sandwich and no need to grease or butter the outside- just make a normal cheese sandwich and throw into the pan.it also leaves a nice grilled line finish.

   Brought for use in our camper van, I was sceptical as I’ve ordered things before and not what they say, but this is amazing, best toasties I’ve had, trick is to have low heat and turn pan regular, had one every day, best money spent, love how it comes apart to clean, but you can wipe away any crumbes easy, none stick toastie just slides straight out, love love love this , tastes amazing
   Can easy first a full sandwich in as is class shut, golden crispy outside lovely melted cheese inside ,so easy to use

   I’m used to the electric toasted sandwich makers and didn’t expect much from this. It actually works really well when used properly, slowly does it for the best and tastiest results. As it’s non stick, there’s no scrubbing way, it cleans easily and is great value for money and very simple to use. Bargain.
