I bought this after my kids lived on cheese toasties on a holiday in Spain. They did not believe such a thing as a toastie maker existed (they have lived a sheltered life!) so we had to buy one. We then lived on cheese and bean toasties for a good two months before the novelty wore off! Great item only downside is they are a nightmare to clean down.

We always had toasties growing up and I was so excited to get this machine and make them for my kids. It heats up pretty quickly and is small so fits easily into the cupboard for storage. I did look at other toasters and even panini machines but went with this one because of the low price. My only issue with this machine is that if you use anything other than a small amount of cheese, it leaks out of the toastie and down the machine including the back where the fittings are. It’s hard graft to get it clean and I’ve used a cocktail stick to get the coils that hold the machine together clean and now always us the machine on a chopping board to save my work surfaces. I’ve found that no more than half a cheese slice will do the job, but this doesn’t really make for a cheesy toastie.
