It would have got 5 stars except for the warranty service. It was a great mower until yesterday when it failed completely. I contacted Genpower (who import Hyundai products) and they have been most unhelpful, putting a lot of hassle into the return of the mower for repair under warranty. I have had to chase and chase to get any sort of response. Very unimpressed.

Arrived 24 hours ahead of advised delivery and was well packaged. Easy to remove and assemble, no tools required. Batteries last for approx 45 minutes which is enough time to cut both my lawns (just). Easy to use and does a good job. Compares well with my previous petrol mower.
No problems experienced.
I bought this a year ago and can now report experienced findings. The mower does not cut on the lower 2 settings. It tears lumps out of the lawn before stalling and cutting out. This on a lawn I have taken great input on, it has been scarified twice and has no moss or thatch in it. Should be an easy cut. Cuts okay on the third lowest setting but this means I have to cut the lawn every two or three days. Hardly ideal!
How I yearn for my old faithful Mountfield petrol mower.
Can’t recommend.

This seems to be a well built machine that certainly has some weight behind it. It was easy to put together although in taking it out of the box, it was apparent that a cable was not connected to the self-propelled lever. This required the use of a 10mm socket and spanner to put right but it was simple to do. So far I have only cut the grass once but the machine was simple to use and trimmed the lawn well. The batteries lasted reasonably well at around 40 minutes allowing me to cut both of my lawns without a recharge. Time will tell regarding its durability. One thing that is poor is the manual that could do with being rewritten. It is very heavy on General Safety but light on some of the details needed to use the machine. For example, the machine came with the mulching plug fitted and on first use it is not that apparent on how to remove it. The manual says ‘Remove the mulching plug when using the grass collector’, which is not a lot of use. I worked out that you have to squeeze the lever to release the catch and then lift the plug and pull it out. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and hope that it has a long service life.

This is a preliminary review upon receipt of the lawnmower and thus ‘to be updated’. I ordered it after the first machine I ordered – not Hyundai – proved to be flimsy, inadequate and certainly not worth the money spent. I decided that it was false economy and decided to spend more to get a better machine. While the weight is still more than I would have liked, quality comes at a price and the metal body and superior fitments justified the extra expense. The item arrived well boxed and in pristine condition. It took no time at all to assemble – no tools required – and is an impressive item in all respects. It’s well-made, solid and business-like. Similarly, the batteries (x2) and charger are quality items in their own right, but the charger could do with 2 ports to speed up the process. I liked the fact that the charger could be wall-mounted. Update in due course but initial impression is that it’s a first-class machine.
UPDATE 1: Brilliant! High first cut then a lower second cut achieved on a 240 SQ M lawn left me with 50% charge!. I only used self-drive where I needed to to save power, but it was effortless – and quiet compared with the petrol mower it replaced. Huge grass catcher took two fills but easy to detach/re-attach. Still very impressed; good choice!

I was looking to replace an excellent 18 year old corded Qualcast electric mower. We now live in house with a larger garden and I no longer wanted to have cables running everywhere.
I looked at several battery operated mowers made by companies I’d not heard of. Hyundai have a very good name and they make multiple products. After reading through several reviews and reports, the Hyundai came out best for me. It arrived before the estimated time. It was well packed to protect it during transit.
It was very easy to assemble. As the wording on the box states and in the instructions, you MUST charge both batteries before you attempt to use the mower, It has a steel deck which helps to cut the grass. Yes, it does add a bit of weight to the mower, but I think it’s well worth it. The 4 methods of grass discharge cover all aspects of lawn care.
The 65 litre grass box really cuts down on the trips to the compost bins. With the old mower, it would require at least 6 trips. 6 cutting heights allows you to choose the best one for the lawn with grass at different heights. The self-propelled mechanism also works well. It does reduce the battery duration, I I find I only need to use it in certain areas of the garden.
I only have a couple of slight niggles. I didn’t receive any contact from the courier with delivery information as stated in the description. The other issue is that you only get a single charger for a 2-battery machine. The 40volt batteries can take up to 80 minutes to charge. You can buy a fast charger direct from Hyundai for an extra £50 that charges a battery in 30 minutes. I’ll probably end up doing this.
I’m very pleased with the mower, it as always, you need to do your own research to make sure you buy the right Hyundai lawn mower

This replaces a worn out Hayter 48. First thing to note is that this mower in much lighter and easier to handle. The cut is as good but my first were on long, wet grass so ran out of battery. I’m certain this won’t be any issue with normal cutting. I will be buying a second charger for the convenience of charging both batteries at the same time. Because you don’t have to worry about oil/petrol this mower is much easier to turn over and clean. The drive wheels are larger and give very good drive but it takes a little getting used to when it takes off. You get a little ‘wheelie’. Grass area is about 45ft by 100ft. Packing a good and assembly easy. The safety features will prevent the biggest moron from injury.
