Bought this as a second (back up) mower to my sit-on lawn mower which is currently needing attention. It reaches parts that sit-on cannot reach and the wife is pleased that I’m now getting some exercise whilst cutting the grass!
Easy to put together; just add oil, petrol and then charge battery for 5 hours (although my battery had a lot of charge in it when it arrived). It started first time and runs nicely.
Attaching grass box was a bit fiddly and there are two small plastic blocks that, allegedly, have to be used when doing this. I can see these being easily lost when they are removed for mulching the grass.
It performs well and cuts the grass in my 1/3 acre grounds with ease so its good for both smaller and larger gardens.
Probably the only other negative comment to add to the plastic block issue is that the handle does not fold for storage. It can be tilted upright if two bolts are removed but this is too fiddly. Storage space is not a problem for me but maybe something to consider when purchasing if your storage space is limited.
Overall, I am very pleased with the build quality and performance of the mower and it cuts the lawns well. I will be using it again today for the fourth time (using the mulching accessory again for the second time). This certainly works well and saves several trips up and down the garden to empty the grass collector.
So far, I have no complaints and the electronic ignition is a very nice addition (means wife can use it without me having to start it for her!). I think it is a great little mower and very good value for the money.
4/5 stars from me regarding value for money and performance. Would have been 5/5 if not for the small plastic blocks and non-folding handle.
Mr. Chris Friend –
Very easy to use mower. The charge on the battery lasts quite a long time and starts the mower with the push button. It can take a couple of tries but is normally no more than 3 presses. If you do forget to charge the battery, there’s a back up pull starter.
The mower cuts well and the cutting height is very easy to adjust. It is quite a heavy mower but the self-propelled action makes cutting easy. There’s also a useful handle on the front which helps when tilting the mower for cleaning.

Firstly at no point am I blaming the seller or Amazon. The carriage charge of £25 I felt was a little excessive. However a 2 day delivery by fed x eased the pain a little. Also being delivered on Saturday was a bonus. The mower hit my local distribution centre at 1am Saturday ready to be loaded and brought out to me that day. Unfortunately there it sat not moving all day until Monday when it was delivered at 15.00hrs This is the fault purely of fedx, will I get compensation for the delay and myself sitting behind my door for 2 days I very much doubt it.
Assembling the mower was quite straight forward. There is an excellent step by step video on YouTube and better than the handbook. I would strongly suggest you warch it first.
One point to mention is the mulching plug was difficult to extract. No mention that you had to squeeze the handle of the plug to lift a plastic catch up at the bottom at the same time you give it a pull. Otherwise it’s stuck fast.
Filled with the supplied oil, some fresh petrol and it started on the second attempt.
You need to be aware that this machine is a powerful and quite a noisy mower so don’t go mowing at silly hours of the morning or you will upset any close neighbours. Also this is a heavy mower so a frail person might struggle a little maneuvering it around tight spaces. The running bar you squeeze back to start and stop the mower is hard to hold for long periods of time. I use some velcro strip to hold it back until I want it to stop running. It’s seems a well built solid machine, only time will tell how well it performs.
It was such a shame about the late delivery.

I took the Webb that I bought from Wickes back as it would not start!
The Cobra is in a different league and well worth the extra £120
It has an electric start as well as a pull start which started it second pull, a choke so no priming or risk of flooding the carburettor and a 4 speed gearbox so you can adjust the speed for cutting parts of the lawn that are not straight
Yes it is heavy but ideal for medium and large lawns and I am 73 years old and used it with no issues
The delivery was next day and communication from the seller Was helpful and excellent
There are two very very minor improvements needed
There should be a clip to hold the brake and drive handle together as hands get tired holding them together so I use a clip I’ve found so problem solved
Secondly the grass box look like a porcupine after cutting- aesthetic reason only but they should do something about it- I will get round that as do not fancy spending 30 minutes pulling dozens of blades of grass out
This will last me for years so as said you get what you pay for and I’m so glad I bought it

I rarely give 5 stars, but this piece of kit is worth every one. After trawling through a million listings on Amazon, I thought I would give this Cobra a go. Bit of an issue once put together as I couldn’t get it to start, but once I pushed the spark plug housing home with a click it roared into life.
I love the fact that it has electronic start and the 4 speeds. Sometimes I’d rather have a leisurely walk with the mower around the garden, other times I just want it done as fast as possible.
It’s a heavy, (41kg) powerful beast but being self propelled made the weight no issue. It chewed through leaves and twigs easily. The grass box is big and I only had to empty it once when usually I would empty my old one 3 or 4 times.
The large cutting circumference also cut down the length of time it took to complete the whole garden.
Really pleased.
