Amazon Customer –
Battery life is not as expected, doesn’t quite get my 10m2 lawn cut on one charge. Cut also not as good as previous mower even at the lowest setting.
N Bennell –
Good machine, cuts well. Great that it tells you when full. Bit difficult to fit together, for me anyway. Needed a bit of force. Really pleased and easy to push.

I ordered this mower to use periodically to keep on top of the gardens of a couple of elderly people that I know. They both have small lawns and like to keep them tidy throughout the summer. I have a petrol mower which is bvery good but is heavy and too much hassle to chuck in the back of the van to only spend 10 minutes use at a time on a quick mow. I was advised that battery powered lawn mowers were the way to go so I opted for the Flymo, and I have to say that so far I’m glad I did.
The mower itself is nice and light, not featherweight-light so it is dead easy to carry about but doesnt feel like a toy. There is a bit of simple assembly straight out of the box but nothing complicated so after 5 or 10 minutes you are ready to go – the battery arrived 3/4 full so the was plenyy juice for a quick trial. It should be mentioned here that the mower is really just for maintenance in the form of quick cuts of a lawn that has been looked after: the blade is adjustable up and down to cut between 3cm and 6cm so if you own a bowling green or a jungle this is not the mower for you. Adjustment of the height is with a button on the top of the body that whne depressed allows the blade to be raised or lowered by lifting or pushing down the body – it couldnt be much easier.
In use the mower is quite quiet and cuts like a dream, the blade is sharp out of the box and after 4 or 5 cuts I cant see any degradation in performance. Theres no drive on the wheels like a petrol mower but it is light enough to push about easily. It collects clippings well and there is a little flap that pop up to let you know when the collector box is full whch is a very nice touch. It cuts right up to the edges of walls and the like which means you can get away without needing a strimmer, depending on the layout of the garden.
Overall I was quite surprised at the amount of power and runtime that the mower has: it will go for probably 20-25 minutes on a single charge but I tend to use if for about 10 minutes at a time so it probably lasts a little longer than the 25 minutes the way I use it. It easily cuts both gardens I do (around 150m2 in total) on a single charge. Charging from flat takes around an hour I think.
I cant say that there are really any seroius criticisms I have of the mower – it is for periodic trims of smaller lawns, yes it would be nice to have a second battery for when you forget to recharge, but a bit of forward plannig will solve that ‘problem. The capacity of teh box is absoulutely fine, again its not t he largest in the world but its not for mowing large areas.
At £210 its not what I would consider a cheap option but for that you get a trusted brand and a three year guarantee to boot so on balance the price is very reasonable.

Easy to put together and use.makes a good job of the lawn with a large grass box so you don’t have to keep stopping to empty it
That Reviewing Guy –
This battery-powered mower has been a great addition for my small lawn. It was really quick to set up! Out of the box and cutting grass in about five minutes! It’s lightweight, which makes it so easy to move around and store, especially if you’re short on shed space or just don’t want to deal with heavy equipment.
Despite its compact size, it cuts surprisingly well. The finish is neat and tidy, and the collection basket is a decent size—I usually only need to empty it once per mow (although my lawn is fairly small). The battery life is more than enough for a small garden, and I just charge up after each use.
It’s probably not the best option for larger gardens or heavy-duty jobs, and it’s not as powerful as some corded or petrol models—but for a smaller space, it really does the job well. No cables to wrestle with is a big plus too. Overall, solid quality and good value, especially if you’re looking for something easy and efficient for regular light use.

I recently upgraded to the Flymo SimpliMow 320, and I have to say, it’s a bit of a game-changer. I was tired of dealing with extension cords and wanted something lightweight, cordless, and easy to use—this mower ticked all the boxes.
Setup & Build Quality
Straight out of the box, assembly was quick and simple. It only took me about 10 minutes to put together, though the grass box was a little fiddly. The mower itself feels sturdy despite being lightweight, thanks to a mix of rigid plastic and metal parts. It’s well-made and easy to carry around.
Performance & Ease of Use
I was impressed with how well this mower cuts, even on damp grass. It left a clean, even finish. You do notice the difference between this and a corded mower though, it just feels like there isn’t the grunt. But it does cut well.
The close-to-edge cutting feature was a nice surprise—I didn’t need to use a strimmer afterward, which saves me time. The grass collection box is easy to empty.
Battery Life & Convenience
The 18V 4.0Ah battery lasted long enough for my small garden. However, if you have a medium-sized lawn, you might want to invest in a spare battery because there’s no low battery warning, and it can stop unexpectedly. The battery is generic and you can use it with other Flymo and Bosch tools.
✅ What I love:
Cordless convenience—no more tangled wires!
Lightweight & easy to manoeuvre.
Close-to-edge cutting—less need for extra trimming.
Decent battery life for small gardens.
Easy to clean and store.
❌ What could be better:
No battery indicator—it just stops when it runs out.
Only 1 battery, so not ideal for bigger gardens.
Doesn’t feel as powerful as other corded mowers.
Final Thoughts
For a small lawn, this mower is fantastic. It’s light, easy to use, and cuts really well. I love not having to mess with cables anymore, and the battery system makes it super convenient.
