I was beside myself when I managed to cut through my hedge trimmer cable… I ordered this, it arrived the next day and literally took me 10 minutes to get the repair sorted (and I’m no DIY expert). Great value for money and easy to use. Perfect.

I was mowing one of my lawn’s but having to anim@ls in the garden does not help, and so a went over the cord, so here I was on Amazon looking for the connection that would help me be able to use my mower, so I was. Able to re use the mower once more. I new I used to have one but it had grown legs and home and that is where I found it in the garden with the son, of a once trusted neighbour. So struggled to repair the mower lead, only to discover that once I had done it, I could have called someone out and I would have had a new leaf on but as I new from the past this little connection is brilliant.and many a day this one has saved my bacon.

The two sections work as they should but don’t fix together solidly. Feels loose but seems to work fine so far.

I am a little astonished that this can be sold as it is. The connectors are unkeyed and so they plug in either way round with equal ease, putting live to neutral and vice versa. Although they may functionally be the same thing on a desktop lamp, I wouldn’t rely on it necessarily being ok to reverse them on any appliance more complicated than that. If they’d just marked the outer casing for the live side, that would be sufficient, but they haven’t even thought to do that.

I wouldn’t have purchased these at all, were it not for the fact that apparently you can only now buy one side of the Flymo style connector set. Even more irritatingly it’s the side you need the least, because it’s the side which comes attached to every Flymo lead ever made, something which is cheap enough to replace when broken, anyway.

That gripe about Flymo aside, the one thing that really stands out about the standard set of Flymo connectors, is they’re designed to be physically non-reversible. I assume they did this because inadvertently connecting live to neutral is generally considered a bad idea on just about everything but a lightbulb.

I think the design of these is surprisingly shoddy, and as I said, I’m quite surprised they can even be sold for this purpose – but unfortunately if you cut your lawn mower cable, you may well find yourself stuck with this solution, as other far better designed solutions (I’m talking about you, Flymo), appear to have disappeared from the market.

When you’re assembling, mark the outside of the casings for L or N for future reference – and when plugging together, tape the connectors together as they’re likely to pull apart in anything more than a stiff breeze.. something else Flymo connectors don’t do. Just to add to the insanity, L and N are marked INSIDE the connectors, where – without corresponding external casing markings – they’re absolutely no use to anyone under any circumstances.

Used to repair a severed cable on a hedge trimmer. Well made ,easy to use.Printed instruction on one half of the plug reminds you of which part should be connected to the “live” ie power socket and which part to the appliance.- you don’t want 2 exposed pins possibly “live”.

Cut my mower lead the other day . The repair plug is ideal and far better than losing a length of lead or replcing with new.

Easy to fit and does good joining job.

This works a treat… but there were no instructions (apart from which end to attach to which part of the appliance). I was able to Google it and see what to do from a rival, but it would have been helpful to include. As an example, I assembled it, but it didn’t work. I then checked the fuse on the plug, replaced that, and it worked perfectly… but that was not obvious
