Reasonably well-made iPad mount with a drilled base to attach to a bulkhead – on a boat, in my case. Perhaps a little overpriced for a Chinese product. I would have liked the locking mechanism for the jaws to be a little stiffer; I don’t know how it would have survived long-term use. However my main reason for returning this was that the jaws that hold the edge of the case are only 12mm wide – simply not enough for an iPad in a rugged case. Anyone using an iPad outdoors would use a rugged case, so this seems a big oversight.

Excellent product at good price. Bought for 22 foot sailboat to use Navionics. Able to hold iPad in Poseidon water proof case (by TechGear) – the 4 holding feet extend. previous mounts I’ve tried & looked at would not hold iPad in waterproof case. Made of plastic but feels sturdy. Locking mechanism is solid. Very few metal parts to rust in marine environment (but they won’t be 316/A4 stainless steel). Plan to attach mounting bracket to the lower part of a washboard to keep it away from drenching.

For the price, a really good piece of kit. It seems to be made of a good quality plastic but that doesn’t affect it’s sturdiness. The device clamps are adjustable over a wide range and fits my Samsung A7 tablet fine. There’s a decent range of movement which can be increased by turning the tablet clamp upside down. Only two negative points to mention: although the tablet is held firmly, it is a bit springy. Not that it would break or fall out, but there is some movement. Secondly, the clamping arm cannot be removed from the base. Only a problem if you want to store it away when not in use.

I bought this stand to put a tablet in my tractor. However even without driving around when trying to type something on the tablet screen with light touches it bounces.
When driving it is impossible to read the screen.
