    Martin & Dr Anthony

We found the KitchenAid coffee machine to be excellent. Our wall cupboards are set at 600mm from the worktop! We decided on this height so that our Kenwood kMIX stand mixer (this would also work for a KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer) can be tilted without a problem so can our Kenwood Breadmaker and our DeLonghi Eletta coffee maker too! Everything works fine but my partner Dr Anthony and I had the foresight to plan this into our kitchen when we designed it in 2009! Detail is very important when planning a kitchen you need to know how you will use it! We made it future proof as kitchen gadgets come in all shapes and sizes and we wanted our kitchen to be perfect! The KitchenAid coffee machine is robust and very easy to use. When filling with water we tilt our tank to the left for easy access and put the tank back on the same way with no problems. Our hot plate stays on for 30 minutes which is what it says in our instruction manual and is ample time otherwise coffee becomes stale if kept hot for too long. Often I warm up left over cold coffee from the morning in the microwave for 1 minute and it still tastes great. Dr Anthony and I are both coffee connoisseurs and feel very strongly about the way our coffee is made. That’s why we have a filter maker and a bean to cup machine and caffetieres too. Our DeLonghi coffee grinder can grind sufficient coffee beans for just 2 people made in the KitchenAid machine. The KitchenAid machine can hold enough water 1.8 litres if I remember correctly for several cups of coffee. It is a fantastic machine and I am not usually a KitchenAid fan having mainly Kenwood, DeLonghi and Porsche (Siemens) appliances. I went against my usual taste bought the KitchenAid and have been delighted with it! You should not be apprehensive about buying this product. If your wall cupboards are set lower then it would be sensible to situate the KitchenAid machine perhaps where there are no wall cupboards above it!

I have had two of these coffee makers and the are so user friendly and brews good coffee. You have a choice if you like light coffee or dark stronger coffee. Love this coffee machine

This is a great easy to use coffee machine and I would highly recommend it.

The water tank is a faff – you have to lift it up and out and then place it down on the valve – if you then lift it before using it entirely, water goes everywhere. Also, the unit is too tall to use under a cabinet so you need to pull it out to open the lid and pour in the coffee grounds, which defeats the whole purpose of having the removable filter. Then, it takes more than 20 minutes to brew a “strong” pot of coffee, but then the warming plate turns off after only another 20 minutes and can’t be turned back on. So disappointing. We returned it and bought a “cheaper” model that is simpler to use and which has a better warming feature.

Kitchen Aid replaced this appliance three times – each time they lasted six months before failing again. Absolute waste of money. They refused a complete refund – deducting ‘depreciation’! I won’t be buying from them again.

I do really like this kitchenaid coffee maker and it makes very very nice coffee and keeps it warm for 40 minutes and it’s very easy to use. However, after only three years, the LCD display started to fade and has now completely disappeared so I’ve got absolutely no functionality on it anymore. I can actually still use it without any functions, I just have to turn it on manually, but I feel at that price point It should have lasted longer than three years. I probably wouldn’t buy this one again if they are using inferior parts.

It is pretty straight forward. There is no functionality. The only thing you are buying is the name – Kitchenaid.
