An amazing machine – it is louder than my previous Nespresso, but I love the milk frothing. It has a lot of different functions with the milk, being able to choose whether to simply warm it or foam up. It is quite a large machine but looks great, the colour matches the kitchen. And zero leakage.

I really love the taste and texture of the coffee this machine makes, it’s nearly as good as a barista. The big downside is that’s it constantly keeps breaking down, at least twice it has to reset to factory settings. Been sent back twice for repairs, but it’s still faulty

Bought this as an upgrade to our previous Vertuo machine. Looks wise, it really is the business and looks very professional in the kitchen. However, there are a couple of glitches which can be irritating bearing in mind the cost of the item. First is the fact that it cannot froth the milk and deliver the coffee at the same time, which the previous machine could although to be fair, they were two separate machines. Second is that the coffee capsule doesn’t always eject efficiently in the bin – annoying when you have to manually move it with your hands. Finally, and this is a word of warning – DO NOT dishwash the drip tray. Although it looks robust, it warps which is surprising given the thickness of the plastic. Although a replacement was sent by Nespresso the next day, should this happen to an expensive machine? On the plus side, it does make great coffee and does flat white and carafes, which the old one didn’t

If you have bought into the Nespresso Virtuo capsule system, this is probably the ultimate machine. Not at its full price though. Note though that in contrast to the Creatista Pro, this machine does not seem able to do coffee and milk frothing at the same time. This is no great hardship. A recent firmware update suggests that the milk frothing can be automatically adjusted depending on the coffee capsule inserted, but I have not worked out how to do this yet.
For those wondering whether to migrate from the traditional Nespresso capsules to the Virtuo systtem, I have generally found Virtuo to be superior, both in strength, volume and crema.
