If you are a frequent traveler I would recommend this suitcase. You can get cases a lot cheaper but they will fall apart quickly. I have used this case on 20+ long haul flights and used the full weight allowance of 32kg at times too without drama. You can also pay a lot more for a suitcase although I’m doubtful they are really worth the extra since a case like this will handle most things a baggage handler will throw at it. Highly recommended.

Bought this because my daughter has had one for ages and loves it. Good quality and amazingly light.

Bought two of these, one for myself and one for my girlfriend. They worked okay for a couple of trips, although the brackets holding on the wheels were clearly a bit wobbly.
However, soon enough the handle of my girlfriend case broke and was stuck in the fully outstretched position. This was pretty bad because it makes it impossible to put the case into a luggage rack on a train and makes it a nightmare to take through an airport. This suitcase was now essentially useless.
Shortly after that, the wheels on my case started to fail. Despite relatively infrequent use, the wheels were basically breaking apart as if they were made of felt Eventually, one wheel ripped apart and fell off entirely. The other back wheel got jammed so it wouldn’t turn and was essentially sanded in half by friction with the ground (see the pictures). This suitcase was now a nightmare to take anywhere because I would have to literally drag it on stumps over the ground. Also, it was impossible to stand it up straight.
With only one more use after that, the handle of my suitcase became stuck in the same way as that of my girlfriend’s. Upon inspection of hers, the same problems with the wheels had also begun to show. Both cases were now completely unusable about 1.5 years after purchase. They had about 5 trips under their belt each at this point.
At this point I relented and began the warranty process. Samsonite offers 3, 5, and 10 year warranties on their products, so this case was covered (although I don’t know whether it had a 3 or 5 year warranty). I sent an email to Samsonite customer service with pictures much like those attached to this review. I received a reply telling me:
“Your suitcase would need to be inspected by the service centre at Maidenhead to determine the defect on your suitcase.
The technician needs to clarify if your suitcase is a material or manufacturing defect.
The Service centre can arrange a chargeable collection.
Alternatively, you can despatch the suitcase to the Samsonite Service Centre yourself. You are however responsible for all transport costs, or you can take your case to the store that you have purchase it from and the store would be able to help you.”
They wanted me to send off my suitcase with my own money in order for them to inspect it, with no promise of me receiving my money back. Essentially, they wanted my to pay them for telling me to sod off!
I told them I wouldn’t do that and asked for my warranty again. They replied:
“Please be aware that if you wish to pursue a refund, this will need to be taken up with Amazon from which your case was purchase, as this is where your contract lies.”
This is a lie as I do not have a contract with Amazon. I have a contract with them, since they are the suppliers of the warranty.
They then said:
“The service center had a look at the pictures and they have advise that the wheels is not covered under the warranty this is not material or manufacturing defect, it is wear and tear that is the finding of what they can see on the pictures.
Or alternative you can order Spare Parts and check availability for parts from our website https://www.supportandgo.com/Brand/Samsonite
Please go onto supportandgo and order your Spareparts. The full product code is required to process an order.”
I will never buy a Samsonite product again and I advise you do not either. I bought two cases and they both broke in exactly the same ways while used by different people, which indicates that the cases are of poor contruction (indeed independent review sites note the same issues). The warranty clearly counts for nothing and is only there to give a false sense of security to buyers. If you are thinking of purchasing this case, buy a cheaper one instead – it will last you longer.

Super light, smart-looking case.
Amazing what you can pack into it! Good quality zips and lock.
Highly recommend.
fast delivery and original –
I don’t know why this was only available from the UK, but it’s such a great suitcase, I feel lucky to have gotten it. It’s super lightweight and manageable. When I first took it to the airport, the guy at the desk weighed it and I could tell he first couldn’t believe it was within guidelines because I had packed it full and still it was under the required weight. The suitcase is designed so well, it fit just as many clothes as a slightly larger suitcase I have of nearly the same weight. This one qualifies as carryon for many airlines’ international flights.
It’s getting really hard to get these 2wheel suitcases that have more packable area than the spinner wheel ones, so I feel especially lucky to have gotten this one. When Samsonite makes these ultralightweight great quality 2-wheeled suitcases, there’s just no competition. Unfortunately, they aren’t making them so much anymore.

The suitcase itself is lightweight and practical, but the wheels wore out after just over two years of use, which was disappointing. However, the global free warranty service allowed me to get the wheels replaced without any issues. While durability could be improved, the after-sales support is excellent, making it a more reliable choice in the long run.
