This duffel bag is undeniably high-quality, built with extremely durable materials, metal buckles, and smooth, weather-resistant zippers. While the exterior is tough, the interior lining is silky soft to reduce scratching and chafing of contents.
There is flexible ribbing within the top fabric to help the bag stay open while packing without being overly rigid. The handles are made of thick seatbelt-like material, securely stitched to hold a lot of weight, and the padded shoulder strap comes with heavy-duty metal clips. This bag can definitely handle some travel abuse.
Both inside and out, it has attachment loops scattered about for clipping on extra gear. The bottom is reinforced with rubber pads and internal padding, keeping it sturdy when set down.
Storage-wise, the main compartment is simple and roomy, but it does have a large zippered pocket inside. It also has a small pouch for a tracking device like an Airtag. If you need more room, there are two exterior expansion zippers which give you about two extra inches inside, mostly toward the bottom.
On one exterior side, there’s a large zippered pocket with two smaller stitched pockets and a key lanyard. This is well-suited for folders, papers and documents.
On the other side, things get pretty busy. There’s a large padded pocket designed specifically for a tablet or small laptop, and behind the laptop pocket there’s a smaller, magnetically closed pocket that’s perfect for a phone. There is a luggage pass-through strap on this side that allows you to attach the duffle bag to the handle of rolling luggage. And I almost missed it, but there’s also a nearly-hidden, full-width pocket that opens sideways, which could be great for slimmer items.
The only drawback I see is with the placement of the laptop pocket and the luggage pass-through strap. If you have a large laptop in the pocket, it could make sliding the bag over a rolling luggage handle more difficult. Also, a rigid luggage handle might press against the laptop, potentially causing damage even though it’s padded.
Overall, this bag isn’t overloaded with unnecessary features, but the ones it does have are well thought out. This bag may have a premium price, but if you’re looking for a stylish, practical duffel that’s built to last, this one delivers.

This bag is gorgeous. The outer canvas is soft, but strong. The inner fabric is velvety soft. All the zippers are well made and the zipper pulls have grippy pull tabs. Everything from the fabric, to the metal hardware to the supple webbing is quality. The attention to every details is inspiring. The design is very well thought out. It has plenty of pockets both convenient and functional. The expansion zippers don’t seem to open it that much, but it is quite surprising how much bigger it feels inside when you do.
It does have a seemingly higher price tag, but you get what you pay for, and this is one of the best travel bags I’ve ever seen.

To be up-front, I’m not sure why the cost for this bag. On the other hand, I’ve gotten about a half dozen bags in the last few months, and this one has the highest quality materials and craftsmanship of all of them. And this one is currently about 26% off from when I got it, so now’s the time =)
It’s a little smaller than my other bags, yet is able to hold an impressive amount of clothing and items. And if you fill up and need more space, there is an expansion zipper on each side that adds 20% more space to the bag. Nice.
There are all kinds of pockets and clips, including padded for your computer and one specifically for a tracker device, and a Molle-like what they call “Daisy chain” system for attaching things to.
The video on the product page shows a nice toiletry bag being attached to that system. I would like one of those bags, but either it doesn’t come with the duffel bag or they forgot to include mine, because I didn’t get it. I checked out their Amazon store to see if it’s sold separately, but don’t see it there. Maybe they just forgot mine.
I have the Aviator Navy model, and think it is very aesthetically pleasing. It is quite comfortable to carry as well, though arthritis has me use the shoulder strap more often than I used to would have.
Unlike some bags that I like but the zippers have me holding my breath on how long they are going to last, these zippers are YKK and live up to the name. Everything about this bag is nice, including the wide stacking strap that lets you piggyback this on the extendable handle of another piece of luggage. Many bags have a thin piece of webbing, but this has a whole strip probably 7-8″ wide that holds your bag securely to the extended handle.
I am very aware of the placement of computer compartments, and the one change I would make here is not having the computer compartment on the same side as that stacking strap. It’s probably fine, but will mean that when this is piggybacking on your rolling suitcase, your laptop will be resting against those extendable handles.
I would normally take this for the overhead compartment, however, and a have my laptop in a backpack that goes under the seat in front of me, so the above would only be an issue in some situation.
To top it off, when you register your bag, it has limited lifetime coverage, plus a “trusted companion promise,” which apparently is that for a year after you get this they will cover the cost of repair for damage from an airline or other common carrier.
Thank you for reading, I hope it was helpful.

I use it everyday for work. It feels comfortable in hand with the leather handles. Has plenty of storage space for all kinds of product and clothing. It is very well made and durable.

Pricy, but built to last. Lots of versatility and a thoughtful design. At an MSRP of almost $300, I was a little skeptical that this 40-48 L Altitude duffle from Travelpro would live up to the hype. I am pleasantly surprised, however. After using the bag for a bit, I can definitely see why it is priced higher than the competition. The build quality is stellar. From the zippers to the fabric, everything you touch is well-made and reinforced. The bag has excellent capacity and manages to feel very roomy as well. I like the ability to quickly expand the bag by just unzipping the gusseted side panel. Also, there are some really thoughtful touches like the inclusion of an AirTag pocket inside, the magnetic device pocket on the exterior, and the rear strap for hanging on rolling luggage. I’m also very happy that the bag comes with a lifetime warranty. Overall, I am very impressed with the bag and definitely understand the pricepoint now. For what you get, I think the asking price is well worth it.
