Kitchenaid has a reputation for a reason. They’re not cheap but what you get for the money is an outstanding product that will last a lifetime. I would genuinely argue that a Kitchenaid is a necessity for anyone who enjoys cooking or baking and would recommend it to everyone.
The first thing I noticed when opening the box of the Kitchenaid was just how heavy everything is. Weight is usually an indicator of quality and I think it’s to be expected that the Kitchenaid mixer itself would be pretty heavy. The motor is capable of spinning at a very high speed and if the mixer was lightweight it would risk toppling over when spinning so fast. As the mixer is a heavy unit, this isn’t a problem even at the highest setting. Not only is the mixer heavy but everything that comes with it is also fairly weighty for the size. The three attachments (dough hook, wire whisk and flat beater) are all solid metal with the dough hook and flat beater having an enamelled finish. I can’t think of any reasonable usage that would result in any of these attachments wearing out or snapping. The metalic mixing bowl comes attached, it twists into the mixer and is very sturdy. Again fairly heavy and solid metal.
In terms of performance I have used it for a number of bakes and have found all three included attachments make light work of their designated task, whether it be kneading dough or whisking egg whites into a meringue. I know this is the most important aspect but there isn’t really much more to add here, it’s top class and that’s all there really is to say.
I really like the matte black finish, it looks stylish and is a very versatile colour which I think will suit all different types of kitchen. It cleans nicely and fingerprints are easy to wipe away which is generally the biggest concern with matte colours. For the price I think it would be a shame to have this packed away in the box or a cupboard until use, let it take pride of place on the kitchen worktop.
The Kitchenaid also has the unique feature of being able to plug in various different attachments into the front of the mixer which then utilises the Kitchenaid’s motor to work. For example, you can get a pasta roller, meat grinder, vegetable spiraliser and many more. There should be a leaflet in the box which shows all the available attachments, if not search online. They don’t come cheap but are high quality with the added benefit of taking up less storage space than their standalone equivalent. If you’re a keen home cook I’m sure you’ll benefit from this greatly.

OMG I love it.
Classic, simple and effective design.
When adding dry ingredients pop a tea towel over it to avoid clouds!

Good old American toughness, I really love the simplicity of it ,super easy to use and clean, it does cost a bit more but is money well spent. Also, surprisingly quiet!!

It was going to be a toss up between a Kitchen Aid or a Kenwood, when it came to choosing my new stand mixer. My heart stain Kitchen Aid and my common sense said Kenwood. Forget common sense. I had always wanted a Kitchen Aid. Firstly it is so solidly built from traditional materia ls. So quiet in operation, even on fast speeds. The beaters are all well made, and clip precisely into position. The beaters reach to the bottom and side of the bowl which cuts down the need to use the spatula to push it down.
You can never beat quality.

If you’re going to buy a kitchen mixer you may look at the other brands but having owned a Kenwood mixer I would say that they’re great but this is better. Better made, better designed, better motor. Just better in every way. They’re not cheap but they’re so sturdy I’d back this one to last at least 20 years.
