Only had the phone for a couple of weeks now and all seems fine good price and the quality of the phone fill good

Before lockdown I bought it for £40, and it lasted several years. It was reliable and sturdy and did the job. Albeit performance slower than Samsung was no issue for me.

So I bought this phone for only £80.

People think I have the latest iPhone when actually I don’t; it’s a simple Doogee mobile.

It doesn’t have all that bloatware like Samsung, so I get an extra 10 GB at least.

The sound quality and volume are totally adequate for me, and the screen also is adequate now. Of course, it’s not an OLED like Samsung; it does the job for me.

It installs the applications much faster than my old Samsung Note mobile.

The battery performance is phenomenal for 24 hours with heavy use, which is what I just absolutely adore.

Transferring the data from my Samsung to the Dougie took many hours; it’s not so easy. That was one negative thing.

The other negative thing was customer support, where you would email them, and they would tell you to go back to the Amazon seller, but the Amazon seller is the main official company and would tell you to email them, so you’re going round and round in circles, and they give up contacting you, where I wanted to raise two issues: Bluetooth can intermittently just turn off, and then you’ll have to go to the Bluetooth and connection preferences and choose Bluetooth and slide it on, which wouldn’t come on, and so after several attempts, it would then come on and then stay on. The second issue is that the automatic brightness would just go down to the lowest level when you’re outside and you can’t see anything, so you have to keep it on high all the time. This is also an intermittent issue.

The speed of opening the absence is absolutely fine.

It took some getting used to not having a fingerprint sensor or the infrared iris scanner like on the Samsung.

It takes quite some time to set up the face recognition, and sometimes it works in low light, sometimes it doesn’t, but in bright light it works perfectly fine.

The banking apps I’ve noticed take a very long time to load up on this phone compared to Samsung, which is a blink of an eye, but all the other apps open also in the blink of an eye.

The storage space is phenomenal, which is fantastic, and it’s so nice and slim, and I even dropped it by accident, and there was no damage with the nice case that comes with it, and you can get a glass protector from other third-party sellers. In fact, some of them sell them with much better quality hard cases if you want to cover the edges of the perimeter if you want.

It’s so very light that you forget it’s in your hand compared to a Samsung.

It charges very fast as well, so I have no issues with that.

It’s got the latest Android 14 compared to my old Samsung, which was Android 9 and updated to 10, and the changes take a couple of days to get used to, but then you realise how fantastic these new features are.

They don’t update the operating system, which is no issue for me at all because after a couple of years or so, I’ll just upgrade it to another Doogee phone. The moment they have a very nice one called the Note 58 Pro, which has a fingerprint sensor and huge memory and so forth, which is £120 on Amazon, it may be next time I will get such an equivalent phone in the future.

If it wasn’t for the automatic brightness not working constantly, especially outside; the intermittent Bluetooth that just goes off; and the support doing ping pong between them and the Amazon support from the seller, which is an official seller telling you to email the company, then I would have given it five stars.

It loses one star for poor customer support and one star for the bugs.

UPDATE: – from 3 stars to 2 stars

    1. Customer service is awful. They really do not even know about the well-known Bluetooth bug in their range of mobile phones I found on the internet. They have no knowledge base or understanding of bugs. They ask you to contact the seller, which is themselves, the official seller! Even via Amazon, it tells you to go to the official website to contact customer service – a do-nothing complaint about lazy customer service.

    2. Bugs are

    – The Bluetooth can intermittently just turn off. Via a search engine, I found this is WELL known: one fix is to turn on aeroplane mode for a minute, then turn it off, and then Bluetooth will come on and stay on. Otherwise, Ned needs to restart!

    – The “automatic brightness” does not always work – it will dim down to the lowest so you cannot see the screen when outside! well known in Doogee via search engine. One fix is to change “turn off screen inactivity” to a few minutes. I did that, but it did not help.

    – The camera can intermittently stop starting – either get the “camera” logo and freeze or it comes but a blurry frozen image and gets stuck – only have to restart!

I am not contemplating to return the mobile. I am very disappointed
