Cant do anything on it or with it. Using my old laptop now. Total waste of money

To the best of my knowledge and belief all windows laptops are awful. The most noteworthy characteristics of them is the slow warm up time and the continuous break downs that occur due to unnecessary interference from Microsoft. They are heaps of trouble and I do not recommend them to anyone. There are better alternatives.

Good price for low end laptop with 8meg memory. Keyboard is ok and trackpad ok -ish. It’ll take a bit of getting used to. Intended this as a dual boot machine; Win 11 (it came with) and Ubuntu. I should have paid a bit more for a larger SSD model as not really big enough – my fault. I’ll stick with Windows but I’d forgotten how annoying I used to find it as an overbloated OS . It’s fast enough on this machine for the basic tasks I need it for (mail, web, documents and pictures.

A workhorse of a laptop, with no bells m whistles. However, the sound quality from it’s internal speakers is appalling. My Samsung phone is far better. For a laptop of this price, even though only a mid-priced decive, this is really disappointing. I use it for uni work, lectures and Zoom/Teams events, and this appaling quality lets this device down badly. |The graphics are nothing to write home about, but at least it works. The housing is flimsy, and sadly the keyboard is not back-lit.
However, it handles Office 365 with no issues, and was fairly simple to set up. I was confused as to why it was impossible to charge the battery above 79%, but after doing a bit of reserch found that this setting can be changed by downloading the Acer Care App. Apparently it was set up this way to prolong the lif of the battery, which doesn’t really say much about Acer’s confidence in their own product.
Time will tell as to whether I made the right choice in buying this device, but, at the time, the price was right.
