Reasonable price and meets all my needs not recommended for gaming.

Specs are very good for every day use, and can handle high use/volume activities.
However, you’ll need to set it up properly from the outset. I found that 27 of the ‘drviers’ within the laptop were out of date. They’ll work properly, but they’re out of date.
Also, there are far too many start-up apps and routines when you boot up. The standard boot time was 45secs. I got it down to 7.
You can use some simple software to sort all this out for you from Iobit. I already had their x5 product package for $27.00. It has the full suite. It updated all my out of date drivers, and deleted all residue files. I used their Advanced System Care to optimise the booting process. My only gripe(s), the mouse pad, no left&right buttons. I’ll have to use a stand-alone mouse… and I dislike Windows 11.
I believe windows 11 is slowing the running of the computer down. I wish I could easily undo 11 and revert to 10.
Other than all that, I’m very happy with it. Well worth the money.
Overall good. But sound seems little lower i don’t know why? They make everything perfect but i am not satisfied with sound. –
Aspire 5 A515-57.
Advertised as having a “premium metal body”, when in actual fact it only has an aluminium lid, which is frankly the least you expect in a laptop PC that has an RRP of £700. The laptop having a ‘premium metal body’ was a selling point for me, therefore, it was returned.

I bought this Acer Laptop (i7 (12650h), 16GB, 1TB SSD) for use around the house. The build quality looks and feels quite good – the top is metal whilst the body is plastic. The illuminated chiclet keyboard feels nice to use and the touchpad is comfortable and precise. The power brick is quite slim/compact.
The display is one of the better laptop versions I’ve used, it’s sharp (1080p), bright with vibrant colours and a decent viewing angles. The size, 15.6″ is great for around the house but perhaps a bit large for portable use. In use the machine is fast and the fan noise isn’t too intrusive, plus there are plenty of connectivity options, USB A/C, Thunderbolt, ethernet, Bluetooth but no NFC or memory card slot.
The fingerprint ready works well and the built in webcam and microphones are adequate for everyday use but could be improved upon by connecting an external device.
If I had a gripe it’s that the sound isn’t very loud, but the full volume scale of 0-99 is usable without significant distortion at full output. This is an ideal home laptop although it uses an older i7 chip series and the integrated graphics mean keen gamers should look elsewhere but the PC copes with browsing, movies and office programmes very easily. The 16GB of RAM and 1TB SSD are generous enough to offer some assurance of longevity.
Overall, this is a good value laptop that will suit many mainstream users.
Debra Saunders –
My third Acer now. I had to buy a new one because my last one didn’t support Windows 11. Very happy with my new laptop – does everything that I need it to.
Prisca –

Michael Mitchell –
