I’m very impressed by the power it has. It successfully replaces a much bigger Jonsered gas trimmer that was getting too heavy for me ( I am a 72 years old woman). This little trimmer is much easier to handle even in the narrow spaces of my raised bed garden.

It’s very quiet when running.

I have always had 2 stroke gas Stihl weed eaters but had become tired of the mixing and maintenance and pollution and noise. They are great machines but it was time for a change. Like others I waited for a few product reviews before deciding to switch to battery power. The battery charged quickly out of the box. I just tackled half an acre that had not been touched in over a month. This machine on high cut through it all like butter. I only used 1 bar in 45 minutes. The energy saver mode is great for average grass. It does have some weight to it but no worse then a gas powered version. It is also well balanced and the telescoping shaft is extremely convenient since I am 6ft tall. If I have to be extremely critical the only negative is you can’t just hose it off when done. Downside of battery power but by no means a deal breaker. Be the change you want to see in the world and minimize your carbon foot print by giving up these gas powered machines.

Switching from gas powered to electric definitely meant a loss in power, but it does get the job done and I am overall happy with the product. I really struggled getting the stalks of the large thistles with this new weed wacker, something that the gas powered one did in one quick sweep. One resolution to that is to run the trimmer strings a bit on the longer side and that helped with the thicker stalks. I cleared one area and then moved to the second section, but the battery died. I got about 40 minutes out of the charge on it (and the machine was working hard in dense vegetation with aforementioned thistle.) It didn’t take long to recharge so that was a plus. Maybe an hour to recharge? Overall, it is easier to use, it does a nice job, it’s lightweight, and easy to manage. I am not a big person (female) and I can manage this tool by myself (so yes your wife can use it!) Once recharged, it did a good job edging the lawn too. I could never get the gas powered one started without help. Push button start and it doesn’t idle when the trigger isn’t engaged so I like it much better and it doesn’t annoy neighbors. It also shuts off automatically when inactive which saves the battery. Good design, the only reason for four stars is the battery life. My electric blower came with a second pair of batteries, this tool should come with a backup and it would earn the 5th star.

Owned a couple gas trimmers, electric trimmers and 10 years ago bought a battery trimmer that would not run long enough to finish my yard.
Decided I to upgrade my electric trimmer and considered a gas trimmer knowing that the life expectancy is a few years and the hassle of dealing with fuel because I was tired of dragging the extension cord out and dealing with the tangles and snagging of the cord.
While looking at gas trimmers I found the Husqvarna cordless trimmer and did some research. Decided that was the way to go and ordered the trimmer and spare line. As a side note seems the Husqvarna .80 line refill is difficult to get in a short timeframe.
Also ordered the Husqvarna cordless blower at same time. Both arrived and I charged the batteries thinking I would need both batteries to finish my yard based upon my past experience. I was amazed to find that I trimmed the yard and used the blower to clean up with not only one battery I had two bars left on the battery. Battery usage is outstanding on these tools. I did use the trimmer in eco mode and did not see a need to run full power for general weeding and grass., never did I think I needed to kick up to full power on the trimmer.
Weigh is balanced well and the trimmer handles well, I like the quick length and handle adjustments, I found that if I moved the handle down a bit and extended the length I could easily keep the trimmer level with no arm fatigue. Be careful because this trimmer will cut to the dirt quickly if not controlled properly which is a good thing for weeds not so much in the middle of your lawn.
I am also impressed with the Husqvarna line that ships with the trimmer this line is amazingly tough, my old trimmer would eat line and require me to refill the trimmer twice since I have some areas that are tough on the line. The included line had no issues with cement walls, driveway cracks and chain link fence.
I could not be happier with this purchase and think this is a sound investment compared to gas trimmers
