  1. Rated 4 out of 5

    D Small

I had high hopes this would make my lawn tractor a little quieter, but it’s only slightly quieter if at all. Don’t buy it for that reason.
    PROS
    – Perfect fit
    – Easy installation (tapping new threads not too difficult)
    – Reasonably priced
    CONS
    – Not quiet as I’d hoped
    – It would be helpful if threads were pre-tapped
    – Smells during break-in

  2. Rated 5 out of 5

    Train Chaser

It was an easy install and perfect fit for the 2 port exhaust. Pay attention to the number of exhaust ports needed for your engine 1 or 2.

Perfect fit my craftman Xlt1000 21 HP. As other mentioned self tapping in mounting using existing 2 screws. All it take 10 minutes. I would craftman xlt2000 does the same instead removing the whole thing.

product is same heavy duty muffler that was in my Sears lawn tractor model DYT400 with a Briggs 445677-0413-E1 engine. Changing parts took 5 minutes and new muffler fit no problem. New muffler works great.

Mounting holes are not threaded. A little pressure on the bolts while turning with your socket , along with some patience , and it goes on fine and works well.
