Work great for ride on lawn mower deck

This clip is exactly what I needed to hold the steering shaft in place on my Craftsman lawn tractor. At first I did not know why the steering shaft was moving out of place. Initial inspection didn’t show anything broken or damaged. I didn’t realize there was supposed to be a clip on it until checking the parts diagram in the owners manual. After many years of use, it must have worn through and fallen out. Ordered and received this replacement quickly. Lawn tractor is steering normally now.

This part is often missing on these mowers. It is kind of hidden down at the base of the steering shaft. IF your steering column seems to move up and down too much, then it is likely that this little clip is missing. Follow the steering shaft length down behind where the battery sits. At the base of the shaft there is a small hole where this clip fits in. IF it is missing, then you know. Good luck.

I ordered this part on Thurs night and received in the USPS box on Monday. Very Fast. I saw a video by Wrong_Boy on YouTube about what the problem was, Thank You to Wrong_Boy. My Mower is a 2014 Snapper 2.0 hp riding mower. The model is 2691202-00 ST2046. This part looked just like the original. works perfect. My Thank You to the seller. This part was $5.83 + tax., would of cost me more than double that if I had of ordered anywhere else on the net or from Briggs and Stratton which bought Snapper. I Ordered a spring for the deck In March from one of the popular suppliers on the net and the spring, was weeks getting. Again My thank you to this seller, My Mower was down only a couple of days. Put the Steering Retainer clip in, within a couple of minutes.
