This hedge trimmer comes in two parts that connect and have a sleeve which you screw together to hold it. You can then use it at the assembled length or unclip the metal ring and pull the trimmer to lengthen and then lock again and use it extended. The battery needs a full charge before first use, mine arrived with about 50% charge.
It is easy to use and not that noisy but it is heavy. I don’t know what I expected as holding any sort of weight on a pole is always going to be heavy. I managed to trim a tall tree that was about to start overhanging my conservatory, with ease. The trimmer cut through branches that were easily the diameter of a 5p coin. I couldn’t manage it for too long though as it is quite tiring and not forgetting dangerous so it will be a little and often job until I am happy. Obviously you can’t trim hedges March to August as it is illegal to disturb nesting birds so always take that into consideration when gardening.
Overall I think this is a useful and easy to use garden tool but too heavy to use for anything longer than 10 to 15 minutes for me personally.
