This was a difficult buy for me after reading the reviews for this laptop, however I decided to base my eventual decision to buy it on the reported specs. I have only been using it for one week or so but this is without a doubt the most amazing laptop of this quality for this price. I see now that it is about £100 cheaper than when I ordered it which really only bolsters my review. It isn’t a gaming laptop but it runs games as large as Warzone without over heating or glitching. It comes with a free three months of game pass. It hasn’t crashed even though I have nearly maxed out the hard drive’s storage. A dynamic OLED screen. It has a nice mature aesthetic and is inexplicably light. When it got delivered I thought they had left out the laptop or something because of how light the parcel was. I don’t know if I have been able to debunk all the negative comments and convince you to buy this but I definitely don’t regret this purchase and if you are a stand up person who uses computers sensibly and not aggressively I think you will enjoy this purchase just as I have. Once again 10/10.

As a student and freelance professional, finding the ideal laptop to meet both my academic and professional needs was paramount. After much research, I decided to invest in the ASUS Vivobook 16 M1603QA, and I am delighted to share my experience with this exceptional device.

First and foremost, the design of the Vivobook 16 is sleek and modern, with its slim profile and minimalist aesthetic exuding professionalism. Powered by an efficient AMD Ryzen processor, this laptop handles demanding tasks with ease, ensuring smooth performance and responsiveness even when running multiple applications simultaneously. Whether I’m compiling code, editing videos, or conducting research online, the Vivobook 16 never fails to deliver.

Battery life is another area where the Vivobook 16 shines. With its efficient hardware and intelligent power management features, this laptop offers impressive battery life, allowing me to work or study for extended periods without constantly worrying about recharging.

Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase of the ASUS Vivobook 16 M1603QA laptop. Overall I’m very happy with the laptop. It got the Ryzen AI 9 365 skew. It’s fantastic to use, it’s got an amazing screen with brilliant resolution and it’s an absolute beast in terms of laptop performance. My only issue is Windows 11 which I’m not into although I noticed it has the whole new Recall feature built in if you’re into the sort of thing. Was easy to install Ubuntu 25 on and works like a dream. The build quality is solid and I really like having such a large and responsive trackpad. Only negative might be that the keyword isn’t the easiest to type on, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it.
Overall so much better than any laptop I’ve owned before and honestly can’t see what more I could want that would justify the over 2K price tag of more premium laptops.

I had to buy a new windows laptop to run some programs that won’t work with Mac. I only needed something decently priced with fair specs, and this has been a great choice.

Setup was easy (although it’s been a while since I used Windows, there’s a lot more steps to set up with now that slightly irritated me, but hey that’s Windows). It didn’t take the full 3 hours to fully charge the battery like it suggested in the manual, but I still left it plugged in. Life on the battery is decent, can’t complain. I don’t need a long life battery for hours and hours, so this suits my needs.

As someone else mentioned, the screen is difficult to see from certain angles. For me, where it is on my desk to control my desktop laser machine, I had to buy a riser to sit it on and even then, I have to bend down to be eye level to see the screen clearly. I had to change the cursor color because it’s hard to see unless you are directly in eyeline of the screen (and with goggles on it’s even harder) – a small and fixable issue but I still wanted to mention it.

I downloaded Steam (as someone who has an imac, it was a perk to be able to finally have a choice of all the games on there) and tried to set up my spare PS4 controller, however it just doesn’t seem to want to work right. Whether that’s an issue with this windows, or another issue entirely I don’t know, but that’s disappointing as I’m still trying to figure it out, and no amount of calibrating seems to work. So I haven’t even been able to assess the game quality on this new laptop yet. I guess I’ll just use the keyboard.

But, bth, I didn’t buy it for gaming, and it works well for its intended use. I got it in the Black Friday sales so the price was great.
