Fun toy, but the bucket needs to stay open when carried,
The handle pulls the bucket closed, one of them needs to be redesigned as it spoils the fun when oickedf uo and the bucket collapses.
Yes it could be stood on and survive, but it also needs to work as a bucket, even if it id a toy.

After reading the description I was pretty sure what my opinion would be when this bucket arrived and I wasn’t wrong. It is expensive for what it is when you can get similar silicone buckets for half the price.
Then there is the issue of the handle. The knots used to tie it off slip though the holes when any weight (water/sand) is added as the silicone stretches. If the design of the handle holes was more solid instead of thin allowing the knot to be concealed, then the stretch issue would unlikely be a problem. Allowing the handle to remain attached to the bucket.

I purchased these for a recent holiday to spain. I only had hand luggage so wanted something small and lightweight. These fit the bill perfectly. I was worried you wouldnt be able to make a sand castle with them but my toddler actually finds it easier that a solid bucket as you can squeese it slightly to get the sand out. My two toddlers had one each and they loved them. Would highly recommend, espically over buying a cheap bucket when your out there, which we did last time and broke within the first few days so pleased we have high quality ones to take with us now. 🙂

This Adventure Collapsible Bucket is ocean blue and from the Bigjigs Toys Store. It’s made of soft flexible silicone and has a strong rope that attaches to the sides of the bucket passing through the centre of the handle for carrying. After reading other reviews I tested the strength of the handles and I’ve had no problems with the rope coming away from the bucket so I’m very happy with how it’s been made. As it’s collapsible and lightweight the bucket can be folded up to take on holiday and is perfect for children of 18+ months in the sea, beach, sandpit and also used for crabbing. It’s very easy to keep clean by wiping it with a damp cloth and warm water. As I live near the coast I’ve chosen it for my grandchildren for when they visit for them to play with on the beach.

It’s such a cute little bucket, made from some really soft silicone so it’s lovely to hold. I got it for crabbing not noticing how small they are so check that before getting it, unlike myself…I’m still going to use it for crabbing but will probably only fit a couple in there before having to chuck them back.

My grandchildren love to play with buckets and bowls. This Bigjigs collapsible bucket is a nice addition to their toys around the home or outside in the sandpit or on the beach. As it is made from silicone it folds and collapses so it can be packed in a suitcase for the holidays. I don’t like the rope handle as much as the silicone one that comes with their watering can. If you pull at the handle the knots on the cord will come through the holes on the bucket as the silicone will stretch.
Overall, this is a nice toy bucket with the advantage that it folds flat. It compliments other items that we have in the range and will last for years. Recommended.

Great little buckets, lovely for using and compact storing…. However the silicone stretches and as soon as there is any weight of water or sand in the bucket it causes the knot on the string to come through the hole… making the handle redundant…. One small adaptation with a washer either side should hopefully fix this, but it’s a shame it doesn’t come with them or a better design all together…..

This bucket from Bigjigs came at exactly the right time. We were due to go on holiday to Mallorca with our little boy. We wanted to take a bucket and spade, but were limited for space. This silicone bucket seemed like the ideal solution. By flattening and rolling the bucket, we were able to easily fit it into our hand luggage. Once on the beach, it served its purpose well. No, you’re not going to get the stability of a conventional beach bucket. Its silicone composition means that the sides are a little squishy. It’s possible to make sand castles, but it’s a little tricky. You need to get the technique of slowly peeling the silicone away from the enclosed sand. I struggled a bit, but my partner seemed to fare better. This aside, our three year old boy was more than happy with the results. He also enjoyed taking the bucket into the pool and filling it with water. It did its job very well and we were able to bring it home afterwards, rather than abandoning it in the hotel room due to the lack of space. Happy to recommend.
