Das Wichtigste gleich mal vorweg – der Klang ist einfach der Hammer! Ich habe einiges an Audioprodukten von Bose und war hier weniger überrascht, als vielmehr darin bestätigt, dass Bose den Spitzenplatz unter den Audiogeräten auch verdient.
Koppeln – problemlos. Bedienung – problemlos. Am Pool Wasser drauf bekommen – problemlos. Lautstärke und Bass – gewaltig.
Ich frage mich schon seit Jahren, wie es Bose immer wieder schafft, in derart kleine Gehäuse ein solches Volumen rein zu bekommen… Das weiß ich zwar noch immer nicht, aber der Klang und das schiere Volumen sind einfach großartig.
Wie weiter oben schon geschrieben, ist die Bedienung mehr als simpel. Tatsächlich ist die Bedienung schon fast komplett intuitiv, ich empfehle aber trotzdem, sich vorher das Manual aufmerksam durchzulesen. Kann nicht schaden…
Das Ding bringt aber ganz ordentlich Gewicht auf die Waage. Ich kann es also nicht empfehlen, es mal ebenso im Rucksack mitzunehmen, wenn man damit etwas weiter zum See zu laufen hat. Wenn man mit dem Auto unterwegs ist – gar kein Problem; da spielt das Gewicht nun sogar gar keine Rolle. Auf jeden Fall kann dieses Gerät – in einer kleinen Wohnung – die Stereoanlage ersetzen.
Dies gilt natürlich nicht für die selbsternannten Besserhörer, die Audiophilen, unter uns… Denen wäre dieses kleine Ding natürlich viel zu wenig.
Aber für Menschen, die nebenher Musik, Hörspiele oder Podcasts hören wollen, ist das Ding einfach perfekt.
Meinerseits eine ehrliche fünf Sterne Empfehlung!

Absolutely amazing little speaker that really does pack a punch! for it’s size I am well impressed with the sound quality, it’s nice and clear throughout the range of lows, mids and highs with a nice bit of bass that doesn’t drown out the rest of the song you’re listening too.
It’s really easy to setup too but it does needs charged out of the box, it only comes with a short USB-C cable, a small power plug would be nice.
It was just a case of turning the bluetooth on by holding the button on the speaker and pairing it with my phone, you can install the bose app too to configure basic EQ settings – bass, mids, treble to your liking, I found this helped a lot with more complex tracks raising the treble and mids helped with the higher range a fair bit.
Clarity can get a little bit muddy if you have it at the highest volume setting possible – pesonally I don’t see why you’d need to do this though as even at half-volume it was more than loud enough – could hear music from it clearly from 30+ metres away.
It is a little bit expensive for what it is however the build quality is brilliant and the sound equally so.

This Bose SoundLink Plus sounds exceptional, gets astonishingly loud with zero distortion – and it is not just splash resistant, but is rated as waterproof. If you’re looking for something to bring music to a tailgate party, backyard or living room, this seems hard to beat.
I already had the Bose app on my Samsung tablet because I have a pair of Bose headphones, so as soon as I turned on the SoundLink Plus, the app detected it and paired up with it. You don’t have to use the Bose app if you don’t want to, but I recommend it because it gives you equalizer settings, allows you to check the battery, etc. The battery on my speaker arrived 30% charged so I connected the charging cable, which is included, but I wanted to see what it sounded like right away. The audio from this is impressive. There is plenty of tight, clean bass, but it’s also got crisp mid-range and treble. It reminds me of a high-quality speaker you might hear at a nice restaurant or club that has outdoor music. And, does it ever get loud. Playing this outdoors on the tailgate of my truck at about 70% volume, I was able to hear it all over my yard and even well down the street. If you did not see this speaker, you would assume the sound was coming from a much larger audio system with multiple speakers. It’s that good.
As is typical of Bose products, the SoundLink Plus has a clean, understated design. There are buttons on top for power, Bluetooth pairing, play/pause, and volume. There’s also a shortcut button that by default is set up to allow you to link two Bose speakers together. Very intuitive and easy to use. There is also a built-in carry strap that could also be used to anchor the speaker in place while it is in use.
One of the more impressive features of this speaker is that it is waterproof as well as dust proof. According to the product documentation, it can be immersed in water up to 1 meter deep for up to 30 minutes or used in the shower. They do caution against attempting to charge the speaker while it is still wet, however. The manufacturer also advises rinsing it off in clean water if it is splashed with salt water or with chlorinated water from a hot tub or swimming pool. With this level of water resistance, there would be no worries about bringing this along even if it might get rained on. And if it did rain, you could just keep right on playing it if you wanted.
This speaker has some weight to it and seems solidly put together. Battery life is said to be up to 20 hours at moderate volume or about 4 hours if you are playing it full blast. I played mine outdoors for about an hour at 70% volume and the battery still shows 100%. A useful perk is that the USB-C port on the speaker can both receive and supply power, so you can charge your phone or other mobile device from this speaker.

I have to say I can’t help but feel a bit disappointed by this speaker. £250 is not cheap for a portable speaker, and after reading through the specs sheet I concluded that the feature list is rather basic. There is only bluetooth connection that can be connected to other bluetooth bose speakers to create stere sound (only with an identical model) or party mode (any bose model). The latter plays the same audio on all speakers at the same time for a multi room setup. There is no wifi, aux, or microphone for phone calls. The usb-c cable is for charging only, not to play music through. I was hoping that the bose app would unlock some goodies, but it’s basically a glorified equalizer nothing more. The custom button can be customized, but the only option offered is spotify. Bummer.
So after seeing the basic feature list I was expecting some spectecular sound quality, to justify the price. Alas the sound quality is good, but nothing I haven’t heard before. At least nobody in the family was euphoric hearing this speaker. The loudness is good, the quality is good, it’s just not remarkable. This is still a solid speaker, and maybe for somebody, who is heavily invested in the bose ecosystem is a sensible choice, but for us, without any bose product in the house – it just doesn’t stand out that much. The waterproof, shockproof design is nice, but the buttons are a bit mushy. The speaker looks good, and robust, but for this much I heard similar sound quality and extra features. I think audio tech has come a long way in the past decade and buying a big brand speaker doesn’t always automatically guarantee much better sound quality – in my opinion. I’m not sure I would buy this speaker if I was on the market for one.

This is a great speaker. I have made a video on it for you, playing a range of music and sticking it under a tap.
The sound on this speaker is top class. Very loud. Very crisp. You have an equaliser in the app to tune it how you like but nothing is overpowered. All of the individual sounds come through. Even sounds like fingers against the strings of instruments. Things you mightn’t have heard before. I’ve tried it on pop, trance, classical, opera. All brilliant. No distortion even at top volume. And at top volume, this thing is loud!
It has a good app to change what the shortcut button does, linking to other Soundlink speakers or quick resuming Spotify. It doesn’t work with Sonos if that’s your system, but you wouldn’t expect it to.
The battery life is incredible. It tells you the battery level verbally when you turn it on but it also tells you in the app. On a regular phone charger it is slow to charge. I’d recommend a 35w. There’s no charger in the box. Just a USB-C charge cable. You can also play music while it’s charging so can leave it plugged into a powerbank if you’re away camping and need more than the 20 hours.
The speaker is compact but it is fairly heavy. I was wondering about taking it on holiday but it will add weight to the case. I think it’s better for day trips or to use in the garden. It is very waterproof. I played it under a tap to test it out.
For a speaker of this power and quality it’s not a bad price. A lot of attention has gone into making sure that the sound quality is top class. One of the best, if not the best, I’ve ever had. It is well made, it has a rubber bottom to stop it skidding off surfaces. Long battery life. Waterproof. Looks good. A great product.

Rain doesn’t stop play on this occasion with this portable speaker by Bose. What a great little speaker which comes with a built in carry handle idea for taking on holiday or even for using during a beach party. My husband describes this speaker as being very tactile with a really good ‘feel’ to it.
For its small size its quite heavy and arrived very well packaged and protected with plenty of wrapping. My husband says it couldn’t be simpler to set up and he already has lots of music on his phone from his purchases over the years through Amazon.
There is a QR code on the inside of the box which takes you to the Bose website and app. The house is now being blasted with music much to my husbands delight – he couldn’t be happier with it so its certainly 5* from us.

Kleine Hinweise:
⚠️ Kein 360°-Sound
Der Sound ist eher nach vorne ausgerichtet – kein Rundumklang wie bei manchen anderen Lautsprechern. Sollte man wissen, stört im Alltag aber kaum.
⚠️ Nicht ganz leicht
Mit knapp über 1 kg kein Leichtgewicht – aber dafür bekommt man eben auch satten Klang und lange Akkulaufzeit. Für den Rucksack immer noch gut geeignet.
Fazit:
Der Bose SoundLink Plus ist ein rundum gelungener Outdoor-Lautsprecher mit hervorragender Klangqualität, langer Akkulaufzeit und robuster Bauweise. Perfekt für Musikliebhaber, die auch unterwegs keine Kompromisse beim Sound machen wollen. Für mich ein klares Premiumprodukt – und seinen Preis absolut wert.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:
I have multiple Bose devices. Loving the Bose signature sound. So far I am very impressed with the sound quality. Instruments are all distinct and bass is awesome not muddy. I expect a brake in period for the speaker and even better sound quality after that period. Disappointed that nobody has produced a case yet, it deserves protection.
