   I was looking for a blender that I could use to blend nuts and frozen fruits for my breakfast smoothies but didn’t want to spend a fortune. This Breville Blend Active Personal Blender & Smoothie Maker is absolutely perfect for it. It’s quite a simple blender compared to some of the more expensive models, but it does the job great.

   The build quality is good for the price, and the lead is a decent length. I ordered the Blue colour and it looks great in my kitchen. My sister has the Pink one, and that looks nice too. They have a very minimalist and elegant design, which complements any kitchen decor.

   The blender comes with 2 large 600ml blending bottles with leak-proof lids and even recipe ideas if you’re new to making smoothies. The blending bottles have a generous capacity, enough for a couple of small smoothies or a larger one. They click into the blender base unit really easily and feel secure during use. The lids haven’t leaked on me yet but don’t feel particularly sturdy. As long as you keep them upright when on the move, you shouldn’t run into any issues.

   The blender itself is incredibly simple and easy to operate. The bottle screws into a blade attachment which you then insert into the base unit. It has a one-touch blending button which you press and hold until your smoothie is blended to the desired consistency. This gives you total control over the blender, which is ideal for when a drink or recipe requires a different consistency. Once you’ve finished blending, you unscrew the blade attachment from the bottle and replace it with a lid. That’s it! You’re all good to go. The process takes seconds from start to finish.

   I was curious to see how well it blends ice, and it does a fantastic job. The motor has more than enough power to blend even larger cubes of ice with ease. Although the manual advises against hot liquids, I did try blending a soup and it worked fine, but I wouldn’t recommend doing it often.

   It is quite loud, but most blenders are, and it doesn’t really bother me. As long as it does the job well, I can put up with a little loudness. The blender is very easy to clean. The blending occurs in the top of the bottle, so nothing gathers in the base unlike most blenders. The detachable blade and blending bottles make the process simple and quick to wash by hand or in a dishwasher as they are also dishwasher-safe.

   At its current price, it’s exceptional value for money for a blender, especially for one from such a well-trusted brand. I’m very happy with my purchase and would recommend this item to anyone looking for a cheap and reliable blender for smoothies and drinks.

   The blades propeller is made of semi hard rubber that breaks down with use. After few blends it has no teeth to anchor the motor and you are left with an unusable blender. Very good product at the start and for a few months.

   A great little blender/Smoothie maker for a reasonable price, the blender is slightly louder than previous ones that I have had but it does the job nicely and it also comes with an extra beaker to which is very handy. You can also choose the colour that you would like, I have gone for the blue which is really nice.

   I bought one for my daughter at university as she is a swimmer and needed something easy, simple and convenient for her various juices / vitamin drinks etc. she loved it. I’ve now bought a second for my wife. The size is perfect for a single drink and very easy to use. I did consider other alternatives but none were as straightforward as the Breville. Equally, it feels quite robust when locking and unlocking the container. This was important to me as the Breville will get a very regular use.

   The blender itself is fantastic and I like how small it is. But the clip to close the bottles broke in like two weeks. Luckily we had other bottles, but now have to pour from the provided ones since it doesn’t work without them. Probably should update the tops of them so they’re not quite so flimsy.

   Great product for a great price, however the clip on the bottle lid is very weak. Mine broke after a few uses and it means the bottle useless now as it doesn’t have a stopper on the actual hole, so if the lid doesn’t shut then the liquid comes out everywhere.

   UPDATE: Both my bottles have broke, and after little use. The first one described above, the second did on the first day of use, just snapped off making both the bottles unusable and the whole device kind of pointless. My friends have the old versions for years and there bottles are fine, would not recommend this product.

   Want to complain about getting a replacement bottle but couldn’t find anywhere to do this

   Product was wonderful, perfect for me as a university student to make protein smoothies. I had the lid on one bottle break however. I contacted manufacturer and they responded quickly and have sent me new bottles free of charge. Highly recommend
