People have complained the lead is not long enough. It unclips from the base, and you can unwind more lead before clipping it back in. It’s easy to fill, boils really quickly and has adjustable volumes for different sized cups. It’s much quicker than my old kettle. Seems to be a nice quality item too.

Wish I had found this before. I suffer with arthritis and really struggled lifting my kettle to fill or pour.
This has made it so much easier to make a drink as no lifting involved. Easily filled with a light weight jug.
Takes up no more room than my kettle did. I like the fact you only boil exactly the amount of water needed.
Very useful having the button to vary the amount for different size cups/mugs. Has been a real help to me.

My brother had one in the uk and I loved it
Got one posted to Australia it’s great in the mornings just put your teabag in press the button and get on with something else
All brewed and ready to flip out the bag and add milk
    Couldn’t be simpler

Much easier than a kettle, as my grip is failing.
But if you need a new kettle, buy one of these.

I originally bought this so my wife, who had undergone major surgery, could make herself a cup of tea. As she was under strict instructions not to lift anything, not even a kettle.

It boils water from cold in around 30 seconds, and the water is hot enough to produce a decent cup of tea. A useful feature is that it has a variable volume dispenser. The only problem is that it goes from a small cup to a large cup, but doesn’t show the actual volumes. I did a quick test, which showed up an oddity. The smallest cup volume is around 200ml, the next bold dot produces 250ml, the next one 250ml again, then the next one 300ml and finally the largest cup is 350ml. In the event that you’ve miscalculated the volume, there is an emergency stop button.

The only other criticism is that the button to open the lid to the water tank is behind the unit and a bit fiddly to get to, as you obviously have the unit facing towards you. The lid hinges forward, which makes tipping in the water a little awkward, too.

Overall, a decent bit of kit, which quickly and efficiently produces water hot enough for a hot drink.

Easy and safe way to boil water. I have had one of these since new for 6 years and it is still functioning perfectly (hope I’m not tempting fate by writing this). It is easy to keep clean, just a quick wipe over occasionally. The printed cup markings are still good and clear after all this time. The stop button works quickly and is useful to limit the amount of water dispensed quickly if needed. We are a family of 2 most of the time one fill of the water normally lasts all day.
The variable dispensing amount is very useful as not all cups are the same size, I regularly adjust the amount of water we need. I do use filtered water for filling the kettle which means that scale is reduced, I very very occasionally descale it by boiling lemon juice water through it. I use it for tea, coffee, hot chocolate, instant gravy, boiling a jug of water to rinse cooked rice. I haven’t found that a limited amount of water being dispensed causes any issues compared to boiling a whole kettle.
It is heavier than a normal kettle to lift and refill (I take ours to the sink to refill it) however it could be refilled in situ using a jug if required.
It takes a short while for the hot water to start dispensing, I find that I press the button for the water before getting the cup out of the cupboard, place the cup on the stand, then put the coffee or tea in the cup by which time the water is starting to come out of the spout (probably not the recommended way to do it, but does speed the process up even more).
I haven’t found it too arduous when having guests to make multiple cups of tea or coffee as the drinks need a short while to cool anyway before drinking.
Excellent if you have problems with lifting a kettle or arthritis, much safer than an ordinary kettle to use.
I wouldn’t hesitate to buy the same kettle again and have recommended it many times.

The best way to explain how good this device is would be to tell you that it replaced the identical unit (different colour though) that we bought about 12 years ago.
The OLD one was white and wore the Kambrook brand. It was still working, but definitely showing it’s age with the occasional hiccup. Decided to replace it BEFORE it died and still have it as a back-up if needed.
I had bought a similar device, but not the same, about a year ago but kept it in the cupboard for when the old one died… it never did!

Ordered in Australia and it arrived with a UK plug – not helpful

This was replacing our old one and was just what we wanted. You can set the cup size to slightly larger than the old version which was around 300ml to 350ml and the lowest setting is about 150ml for an expresso or similar. The main difference is the filling, the release lid button is as the back not on the top, but the lid does open more than the old one so is easier to fill. If you struggle holding a traditional kettle this is great, we fill ours using a jug rather than carrying it, it can hold up to 2 litres and it dispenses the boiling water straight into your mug or cup, just sit the cup on the drip tray (this is also handy for those mornings when you are less than awake and forget to put your mug there in time),and saves water going all over the work surface. The drip tray is small and light and easily unclips so you can empty the wasted water down the sink. Its a great way to save energy by only boiling what you need and takes less than a minute, we still have a standard kettle but only use it if making more than three large cups of tea or coffee at once which isn’t that often for us.
