I imagine this could work for some lawnmowers but not for ours. We have a Hyundai HYM430SP – that’s the self propelled petrol version.
Firstly, the cable was easy to attach. The clip in end squeezed through the hole near the engine and attached to the lever with no problems and the ends held both ends securely. The only problem was that the black box to hold it onto the lawnmower frame had nowhere to go. We did have a hole on our frame and a box that held two wires (the brake and the drive), but this wire could not fit in and stay secure. Without it being attached to the frame there is no tension. It’s baggy so it will not pull the wire. We considered drilling an extra hole in the lawnmower Frame, but in the end, for our purposes it was easier to replace the inner wire in the old cable. Our previous wire had snapped due to rust. So If you have the same lawnmower as us and a similar problem, perhaps just buy a wire to go through the centre of the cable. Caveat- we haven’t fixed this yet so this method may also have problems!

Bought this to replace drive cable on Ryobi 173cc petrol mower as you can’t get replacement ones now for that mower,even tho it’s only 7 years old,crazy crazy world,they talk about recycling all the time,save the planet etc,anyway,where was I,this cable is universal,I measured old one this one was slightly longer,but with just cutting one bit off plastic and couple of cable ties,it’s perfect,going like a train,I’m I aloud to say that nowadays,better get it right, electric train obviously👌

Clip to the handle is half the size it should be, I’d be surprised if It fit a electric handles. To make this fit as it was cheap I boiled the kettle and poured it over the plastic part for a few seconds until it become softer and pushed it on and did the job
