Unfortunately the toaster had some marking which does not clean off. It was a present for my sons new home and he does not want to change it. It works perfectly but I just wanted it to look perfect for him too. We had our Dualit 6 slice toaster for 32 years – growing up the joke has always been that my son would inherit ours

This lasted at our nursery for only 3 months! No longer is functioning. Contacted Amazon and it’s past its return date. I would have thought had at least 1 year guarantee

I have had 3 of these in 18 months, so on average they last 6 months if given daily usage. Yes, I use it in a kitchen for a cafe. Yes, it makes about 50/75 slices of toast a day. Yes, it’s great when it actually works. But is that good enough for £200? I have always held Dualit in high regard and have one at home, they are practical and beautiful and before the other copy cat brands started a ‘pop up’ lever, this was the best thing about a Dualit. But to have needed to have 3 over 18 months just suggests they’re not capable of high use. I have looked at the commercial version of this item and it’s approx the same construction and there’s no effective difference so why shouldn’t this model act and perform to similar standards? I won’t say ‘don’t buy’ but I will say ‘caveat emptor’ (buyer beware).

Unfortunatley the toaster arrived damage -both black handles used to pull the crumbs from underneath the toaster – one missing and one was broken, we are unable to pull the tray from underneath the toaster to clean the crumb tray, which is incredibly disappointing as the toaster is very expensive.
