These are getting better, this would work for 90% of uk gardens, the goat is a determined robot. I have tried two before this costing more money and this wins hands down. where other robots tipped or went on uneven ground they would stop, this stopped bleeped and took another route. Don’t get me wrong this would tip up. See videos of my lawn if very steep and uneven but managed it.
Negatives 1. Did not ship with uk plug, so could not waterproof and adaptor and plug in a weather box. 2. it wanted to auto join areas together. These areas I had mapped avoiding areas but then joined together to waste the effort. Instead it wanted you to route areas to exclude, but these areas are tricky to route around, if you get one error you have to start again, normally tricky areas are prone to error. 3. I build a bridge to join to lawns over a stream twice as wide as robot, but each time it did a pirouette on the middle of the bridge so could not trust it. It made it across 1 out of 3 times. Advantages 1. Determined; it would try different angles if struggled 2. Cutting stripes could be chosen 3. Speed could be set 4. Mapping was easy, but needs app to be better to support drawing areas/ excluding areas

Well, it has taken me a whole day to understand everything. First of all, the RTK can be mounted on a fence, the RTK does not have to be in the direct site of the lawnmower when it is working. The RTK is on my back garden fence and the lawn mower mapped my back garden, my front garden and the front gardens of the neighbours on my either side. The RTK setting tells on the map sections whether the areas are covered. Well it has not failed to return to dock, edge mowing is good if there are no tall objects on the other side of the edge. The robot is powerful and push with force to overcome dense grass. It mows my back garden to 3cm in one go, after 3 weeks of not mowing. It has never get stuck, you can edit map, create paths and add multiple zones (A 200cm back garden divided in 2 zones and 3 front gardens, mine and neighbours) Attached is the mower dealing with my neighbours front garden and the RTK on fence.

The mower arrived with a EU plug and no UK 3-pin plug, making it unsafe and unusable out of the box in the UK. I contacted Ecovacs through their app but received no reply. It took a week to get a response via email, and even then, they did not accept responsibility or offer any apology—just sent me a link to purchase the correct plug separately.
I spent around two hours installing the mower: locating best position, and bolting the RTK unit to a pergola, screwing down the charger on the patio, and running the cables neatly with clips—all assuming Ecovacs would rectify the plug issue. I even considered “biting the bullet” and paying £30 for the correct plug. But their dismissive attitude, even after I raised my consumer rights, gave me serious doubts about trusting them if something went wrong during the 3-year warranty.
Their final email simply stated they were closing the case because I was returning the product—no apology, no accountability. A shame, as the mower looked promising, but Ecovacs’ unprofessional support has completely put me off.

This replaced my previous ROB600 machine which was great until it began to struggle with the wired connections. I wanted a wire free replacement but not the £2,000+ price tag.
The ECOVACS bridged the gap financially but I was nervous about the setup and functionality. It was quirky to setup with its auto mapping function, my garden slopes and odd shape 200M2 garden.
However, after re-reading the manual and watching the videos properly I persevered and mapped the garden manually, identified the risky areas and segmented those into sections.
Now my garden is mowed regularly throughout the week and is great at the weekends, I can mow it anytime I want to and it is night and day over my previous one.
I don’t know if for £2,000 you get anything more that makes the £1,250 difference but I would be surprised and frankly would try this one first, as I did before making that level of investment.
In summary great value for money and worth persevering with a slightly clunky start and setup phase.

J’ai récemment acheté l’appareil de navigation ECOVACS Goat G1 pour mon robot tondeuse à gazon et je suis absolument ravi des performances de ce produit. L’installation a été étonnamment facile et l’appareil s’est parfaitement intégré à mon système existant.
Ce qui m’a le plus impressionné, c’est la précision avec laquelle le robot tondeuse fonctionne désormais. Le Goat G1 fournit un signal incroyablement précis qui aide mon robot à tondre la pelouse de manière plus efficace et plus approfondie. Il a également la capacité d’identifier les zones problématiques de ma pelouse et de les ajuster en conséquence, ce qui permet d’obtenir une coupe plus uniforme et esthétique.
Une autre caractéristique remarquable est la robustesse de l’appareil. Malgré une exposition multiple aux conditions météorologiques, le Goat G1 fonctionne parfaitement et ne présente aucun signe d’usure.
La facilité d’utilisation mérite également d’être soulignée. Grâce à l’application qui m’accompagne, je peux facilement ajuster les paramètres et suivre les progrès, ce qui me donne un contrôle supplémentaire sur le processus de tonte.
En conclusion, je peux dire que l’appareil de navigation ECOVACS Goat G1 constitue un investissement rentable pour tout propriétaire de tondeuse à gazon robotique. Il améliore non seulement l’efficacité et la précision de la tonte, mais augmente également la longévité du robot grâce à une navigation plus intelligente. Un véritable produit 5 étoiles !

In realtà la base ed il robot possono stare sotto la pioggia ma avendo pagato non poco il mio robottino ho preferito preservarlo al meglio da sole, grandine e sporcizia che può arrivare anche dalla siepe vicina. É fatto molto bene, robusto, ed ovviamente essendo originale si adatta alla perfezione alla base di ricarica. Non é proprio economico ma lo consiglio vivamente. Ed é anche esteticamente gradevole.
