Very poor lid without remote release, so you can’t refill immediately after boiling without touching the hot surface. LEDs are too weak to see in anything more than a dull room. Very irritating beeps. No particulate filter. Boils quickly and quietly (so why spoil it with the beeps). Adjustable temperature for herbal infusions or coffee. Not a good buy. Will be replaced at first opportunity.

cette bouilloire est plutôt une bouilloire adaptée aux gauchers : étant donné la position du couvercle, qui s’ouvre à droite lorsque l’on a en face de soi les graduations de la bouilloire, il faut verser le liquide avec la main gauche. A part ça, bonne bouilloire qui fait le job.

I got this to replace another similar but discontinued kettle from another manufacturer. Similar price, but I really miss the other kettle as the coloured glow from the LEDs lit up the water from all angle. This one I dont see much of anything unless i turn the kettle around from me s=so that the controls and handle are not inaccessible. Bad lighting aesthetics desgn as the light is not carried around the whole translucent ring at the bottom effectivel. The old kettle did a good job of distributing the light all around through a better designed refractive ring. The Glow colour aesthetic was a major choice for me on the kettle purely for the enjoyment and psychological lift felt from the glowing colours, So i felt a little let down but ke[t it as a really needed the water heated at different temperatures. The controls are not entirely intuitive, suprisingly enough, compared to the previous kettle that had two buttons and similar indicators for temperature selection. This one will not start heating when you interact and select a temperature. So there’s an additional button needed to start the kettle once you’ve pressed the temperature selection button. Not as simple for the elderly and an unnecessary extra step.

So I got this in November. It is now January & I’ve bought a new kettle. Worked great, fast boiling for about the first 3 weeks. Before it gave up it took 10 minutes to boil.

Great kettle. Boils the water quickly and it’s easy to set the temperature if you don’t just want boiling water. The coloured LEDs show the temperature selected but they’re not really bright and so they won’t light up the kitchen but they’re bright enough to see in normal daylight. I’m left handed and most kettles have the gauge located for right handed people and so a glass kettle is a great solution for me. The only downside is that glass is more delicate and easier to break.

Apart from the pretty lights the main reason I chose this was for the variable temperature settings… they are brilliant! The 80° is ideal for making coffee, no bitter taste caused by the coffee being scalded. Herbal and green teas that need to be brewed at lower temperatures, 50 – 90°, are a lot easier to get right every time, i.e. no guesswork… and of course 100° for good old ordinary tea! That’s where the “petty lights” come in showing which temperature setting is being used, very handy as they can be seen from across the room. I don’t really use the keep hot feature but I know it works, I’ve tried it once or twice. I only have one, very minor, gripe… no filter, but I think that I can live with that. Probably the best kettle that I’ve ever owned.
