My partner and I were getting a bit horrified by how much we were spending on takeaway coffees, so we decided to invest in a machine for home. The problem? He loves a Nespresso pod, while I had a stash of Dolce Gusto pods from my old machine. Our kitchen is tiny, so the thought of having two or even three different machines cluttering up the worktop was a nightmare. When I saw this 4-in-1 machine that promised to handle both types of pods and ground coffee, it seemed like the perfect, space-saving compromise.
For the most part, it’s been absolutely fantastic. The sheer versatility is its biggest selling point. It’s so easy to swap out the different holders depending on what you fancy. Most mornings I’m in a rush, so I just pop in a Nespresso pod and have a decent espresso shot in less than a minute. Then, at the weekend, we can take our time and use the ground coffee adapter with some nice local beans, which produces a surprisingly rich crema. The machine itself is incredibly compact and slimline; it sits neatly in a corner of our kitchen without taking over, which is exactly what we needed. It genuinely delivers on its promise of being a one-stop-shop for all our coffee needs. ☕
However, it’s not quite the perfect machine. My main frustration is the size of the water tank at the back. It’s very small, so it feels like I’m constantly refilling it. You can only really get two, maybe three, standard coffees out of it before you need to top it up again, which can be a bit of a faff when we have guests over. It’s also quite loud and vibrates a fair bit when it’s brewing; I’ve had to learn not to walk away, as it can jiggle lighter espresso cups right off the drip tray!
All in all, I’m really happy with this purchase. For anyone in a small flat, a couple with different coffee tastes, or someone wanting a machine for a home office, it’s an absolute game-changer. The convenience of having all those options in one sleek little unit is brilliant. However, if you’re part of a large household of coffee lovers or you drink multiple cups throughout the day, the tiny water tank would likely become a major annoyance. But for our little two-person, multi-pod household, it’s pretty much perfect.

I am not a massive coffee drinker but I do like the occasional mug, and also have family members who always seem to want coffee when they come round, so ordered this KOTLIE to see if this would satisfy (mostly their) needs.
The machine is relatively small with a roughly 10 cm height limit for a cup/mug. This meant I could not use my usual mug which is just slightly too tall, but fortunately I do have some others that are just the right height to fit. There are three different coffee drawers depending on what type of coffee you are going to use and they are all very simple to install and remove, as is every component on this coffee maker. The water jug takes 0.8 litres and sits at the back of the unit.
Making the coffee couldn’t be simpler. Add some water into the jug, then lift the handle at the top and remove the drawer on the front, use the appropriate drawer and add your pods or coffee grounds then insert the drawer again and lower the handle. On the top are three buttons (the power button along with 2 and 4 oz options for your drink size). Because the coffee maker only draws enough water for your choice of drink size it heats the water very quickly so only takes around 30 seconds from hitting start to your drink being poured.
I have only tested coffee grounds so far as that’s all I had in the house and, to me, the coffee tasted quite strong but that may just be the coffee I’m using and the fact I’m used to just having a milky coffee in the microwave and just using a teaspoon of coffee.
Due to the design of the machine it is extremely easy to clean the components once you have finished.
I don’t personally think this will get a lot of use from me, but I can almost guarantee my family will use it every time they come round now, so it’s worth it just for that in my opinion.

Good coffee pod machine with different pod options.
Used pods have to be removed individually, whereas my previous machine could store up to 6 before needing to be emptied.

I’ve been really impressed with this coffee machine. The main reason I chose it was the ability to use multiple types of coffee.. Nespresso, Dolce Gusto, ESE pods. I’ve got a few different types at home and didn’t want to be locked into one system, so this has been ideal. Swapping between the different adapters is really quick, and everything fits snugly and works without hassle.
There is a noticeable difference in the quality of the coffee, especially with ground beans. You get that rich crema and rich smell, and it doesn’t taste watered down like with cheaper machines. I’ve used it for espressos, lungos, and even tried some of the Dolce Gusto milk-based pods, and it handles everything well. Heat-up time is fast, and the machine’s fairly quiet for what it is.
Build quality is decent, high-quality plastics with a nice finish. The water tank is a good size, easy to remove and fill, and I like that the drip tray is adjustable depending on cup height. It looks smart on the counter too, very neat and compact for a machine with this much versatility.
If you’re someone who likes trying different types of coffee, or shares a household with people who prefer different pods, this is a brilliant option. It’s reliable, quick, and gives a proper espresso without needing anything fancy. Very glad I went for it.
