It secures well, it holds the iPad with a good grip, rotates and stays in place. The long arm is very VERY strong! I struggle to move it, there’s no fear of it moving out of place! I’m disabled and bedridden, and this is absolutely perfect for me. Definitely recommend this!

After reading some mixed reviews, I decided I would buy it and see for myself. It is really quite heavy and I think well built. The base clamp is made of metal, the clamping screw has a nice fine thread on it. The round “foot” attached to the screw thread did not turn nicely when clamping on and turned around with the thread. Some lubricant was all that was required. People had reviewed that the bendy Swan neck had stripped the thread out of the clamp base. The base is metal, but at a guess, made of something like aluminium. Here is where a potential problem is. I clamp mine onto an art easel, and depending on which side I have it, and how the swan neck is bent, the combined weight of my tablet and the swan neck hanging will unscrew the arm from the base. I hope that makes sense! So I guess if I used a bit more force to stop this happening, it would result in stripping the thread. I am not indicating that is what others do by the way, but I can see it happening to mine if I did! Yes, the piece which holds the tablet is plastic, but it grips it very well with some little rubber pads and strong springs within it. Overall, I am very pleased with mine.

This tablet/phone holder does work ok, but I found it really difficult to adjust because the gooseneck is incredibly hard to move.
