Great product light enough for me to use as a meer woman 🤣 has the power of a corded trimmer and cuts through fairly big branches as it says : I would recommend it

This was to replace by black and decker mains powered trimmer that had passed its best before date!

Pros – its quite light. Has a long blade. Smooth action. And lovely design. You feel reasonably safe using it.

Cons – Being rechargeable in my opinion is never quite as good as mains. It does not feel as powerful but not having a cord to contend with, it feels a whole lot safer

Tried a few of these and this was the best one so far. It IS leightweight and so easy to use. I think battery only took around and hour to charge (though it prob came with some charge). Made trimming 3 shrubs in the front an absolute breeze. Got caught on a couple of branches but NOTHING like others that get caught every 2 seconds. Only slight thing i found slightly annoying was fitting the handle – easy to put handle in but it was working out which holes had the screws in to tighten it up. However I’ve not deducted any stars as I’m just so pleased with it!

I hope you found this helpful. Please let me know if you did. Thanks 🙂

I’m happy enough with this cordless hedge trimmer. It looks and feels well made and good quality and the battery can be charged with a Flymo, Bosch or Gardena charger and the charge lasts for at least 30 minutes with an indicator to show how much charge is left and it doesn’t take long to recharge. I’ve used it to cut back some hedging that has grown out of control and it didn’t have any problems with anything up to about 1cm in diameter. The cutting action is quite slow and measured so it does seem able to cut through thicker stalks than some other hedge trimmers I’ve used. I don’t find it particularly noisy and it’s reasonably lightweight and fairly easy to handle. Overall, I’m very happy with it and expect it to last a good few years.

The media could not be loaded.

I’m always borrowing my dad’s hedge trimmer to tame our back and front garden but nowmi no longer need to.

It came well packaged as was very easy to put together only needing 2 screws to be tightened in place on the safety handle.

The battery came half charged but I put it on for an extra hour until it was fully topped up then got to work.
The battery slid in, the plastic cover off, squeezed the large trigger and safety grip and away it went, chopping almost everything in its path.
The safety/grip handle is great as you can squeeze it from any angle to switch the safety off means I could use the trimmer on its side with ease, no awkward hand bending required.

It cut through most of the branches on our varied garden, some even thikcer than what my dad’s mains powered one could handle.
Yes it did stop a couple of times when it hit something too think or solid but a little wiggle and it started straight back up again. Most of the time taking it gentle on the thicker stuff meant it made it through without a hitch.
I managed to do the whole back and front garden on half a bettery which was around an hours worth of power on time, very impressed for only 18v!

The unit it lightweight and quite well balanced once the battery is attached, the length of the blade is perfect for my size garden and again is longer than the mains powered on I borrow.

Great but of kit and with a 3yr warranty I would highly recommend this!

I had wanted this to be a bit longer than our Bosch cordless trimmer, which is great, but can’t quite reach across the top of the hedge, meaning it needs to be approached from both sides (part of the hedge borders an inaccessible alley). These trimmers have a safety interlock that precludes one-handed use. Well, the blade is about one inch shorter than the Bosch’s, so it has less reach, but it should be adequate in most circumstances, and it is a manageable length. Needless to say, devices like this should be handled with care. Whilst it is free of mains leads that could be snagged or cut, that manoeuvrability brings with it a risk of carelessness. The trimmer encourages deliberate use, because it cuts in a slow and steady manner. The Bosch feels looser and rattles away in bursts, stopping automatically when baulked by thick branches. The Flymo feels less eager, but it steadily gets the job done. I wouldn’t recommend it for large, heavy tasks, but it is ideal for regular tidying of small and medium hedges.
The packaging the trimmer arrives in is almost the same as the Bosch’s, a single-wall corrugated box shaped to follow the lines of the contents, with the blade section cut back, presumably to save storage space, with the boxes interlocking. Unfortunately, this display box was the only packaging used to courier the trimmer, and it arrived with the thin section bent and weakened, offering little protection to the vulnerable blade. This is the fourth delivery we have had of hedge trimmers from three ostensibly different suppliers, and all have arrived in this manner with the display box plastered with shipping labels, and bent and taped up. Luckily, this time, the blade looks straight, and everything apparently brand new, but possibly re-packaged. The trimmer requires minor assembly, namely attaching the front loop handle with two thin machine screws. The device will not go back in the box once this has been done. It comes with a detachable battery and a dedicated charger. The charger has a mains plug, and a plate at the other end that clips onto the battery., suggesting that all those bulky chargers are not really necessary. What surprised me is that the battery supplied has a Gardena label, rather than Flymo. A bit of research reveals that both companies are part of the same group. More than that, the battery has the same Power4All logo as our Bosch batteries, meaning that they are interchangeable. This is good news, because we already own several different battery systems, and some standardisation is very welcome for users, reducing the number of expensive batteries needed, and generally simplifying tool management, and increasing choice of products. There are a few other manufacturers using the same standard, but Bosch, Flymo and Gardena are the most familiar in the UK. The battery slides on to a rail under the handle, and can be removed after releasing a catch. The blade has a simple extruded plastic guard. To use the trimmer, both a ring under the loop handle and the main trigger have to be squeezed. The motor won’t run unless this is done, and will stop immediately either is released. I found the switches to be a little fussy, sometimes not responding as expected, and requiring pressing a second time. It encourages steady continuous running, rather than the stop/start operation of the Bosch.
It’s quite a pleasant machine, that should do well in smallish gardens.
