This is my first hover mower having previously owned a wheeled rotary with back roller.
My main reason for switching is that I found the rotary hard to manoeuvre when turning.
The hover mower wins hands down here, it’s still not buttery smooth but there’s really no comparison.
Without a back roller, the grass looks seamless, like a carpet when finished and it retains the same aspect as it grows taller. Obviously, you won’t get the lines with this but this suits me fine.
The main downside: grass collection. The mower does a really poor job of collecting grass whether the grass is bone dry or slightly moist. Some grass is collected but quite a lot is dumped on the lawn, requiring raking to remove excess. Basically the fan underneath the grass-box gets clogged and the fresh clippings can’t get past it.
Other downsides are:
1. very difficult to adjust height, requiring removal of the blades using a special tool (included), strength, patience, thick gloves, courage and confidence. I have mine set to the minimum grass height (semi-permanently).
2. Uneven patches of lawns, especially at edges, can get absolutely destroyed down the roots when the mower is hovering lower than the other part.
3. It’s heavy, like really heavy and it doesn’t have wheels so it needs to be carried to the lawn.
4. It’s great that it can be folded for storage; what’s not so great is that the mechanism is tricky and it makes the handle seem fragile and flimsy.
In conclusion: a step up from my wheeled rotary (although that was amazing at grass collection) but I recommend you do better research than I did and try and find a mower that doesn’t dump grass all over the lawn.

I like Flymo’s. This is my sixth over a period of time – including two stroke petrol models – and all are wonderful for cutting on slopes. (There was a four stroke model which wasn’t suitable due to oil starvation). As age creeps up and managing the starting and weight moved me on to the 330 grass collector model, which after more than ten years is getting tired – motor OK but plastics cracking. This 360 model was on offer and is only slightly heavier and with a larger grass capacity so was good value.
Arrived on time and as usual well packed. Easy partial assembly but on running the motor up the machine vibrated terribly.
This is the first time I have experienced this and it only cleared by re-arranging the fan/spacers/blade on a number of permutations as there was an imbalance between the components. Unusual but the positions have been marked so that if blade needs honing, it can go back in the same order.
The extra cutting width made light work of cutting and less stops to empty the grass box.
This design is basically the same as 14 years ago with slight modifications to air flow and grass box. If it ain’t broke – don’t fix it would appear to be Husqvarna’s thinking. . A solid long lasting design

Bought to replace a Flymo HC350 about 15yrs old.
Delivery and assembly – no issues.
This mower is nowhere near as sturdy as the old one. The plastic is thinner, probably thermoplastic so it can be recycled.
The blade is thinner than the old one, and the parts are not interchangeable as they have been previously (I have, and have had, a number of Flymos and blades and spacers have always fitted all mowers).
The grass box doesn’t just ‘drop in’ it needs a bit of attention to fit it.
The ‘Vision’ part of the grass box isn’t removable and inherently ‘wet’ grass sticks to it. It don’t suppose it will be too long before it’s pretty useless. I’d like to hear from Husqvarna how one is supposed to keep it clean. No doubt a soft cloth and mild detergent (haha).
It floats quite well but the big grass box hold a lot of grass (weight) which IMO affects the glide.
When full, the grass box doesn’t empty too easily, the grass doesn’t fall out, it need to be shaken or pulled out.
I have only used it once, however, I don’t think it picks up grass as well as my previous one. Grass was left on my lawn where it was longer, using 2 spacers.
Cleaning underneath is no more difficult than before except that the flimsy plastic lid seems likely to get damaged if you turn the mower upside down.
10m cable is a joke. Immediately cut off solid state plug and connected additional cable (from old mower).
I was surprised at the price. £134.00 didn’t seem to have increased for the £70.00-80.00 I paid 15 or so years ago.
Dissappointed in the quality and effectiveness, but then. Would I buy this again? Probably since I prefer the way the handle folds and the 360mm width.
Footnote. My HC350 motor burnt out. I tried replacing the carbon brushes but no luck. I tried to find a spare motor, but seemingly the one I needed (£90.00ish for a motor) was not available. The moral is, look after your old stuff, cos the new stuff just can’t cut the mustard in the same way.
Update…after 6 weeks this mower started emitting black soot. I spoke to Husquvarna (Flymo) who said it was a motor fault and would refund the money. They arranged for DPD to collect it and return it to Amazon. Currently waiting for DPD to collect it. In the meantime I bought a wheeled Powerbase mower and I am amazed at how much better it is.

After looking at lots of different lawn mowers and reading lots of reviews I finally decided to buy this one. I like that it folds up so fits easily in my small shed. It is not too heavy so I can carry it while folded up. It does a good job of cutting my grass even when it is a bit damp. It is a bit annoying that it blows a certain amount of cut grass and other items on the grass around the garden rather than collecting in the grass collection box. I am happy with my purchase.
