Used to spend lots of money on takeaway coffees as i couldn’t get “that taste” at home, so i thought I’d try and entry level coffee machine. Honestly it is perfect!! Easy to use easy to clean very very good value for money i can’t see any reason why I would upgrade to anything different had mine a couple of months now and saved so much on coffee !

Lightweight and rather flimsy – you need to hold it down when attaching the portafilter. The filter baskets are quite small – the double will take a maximum of 14g of coffee. The hot water comes out in violent spurts which can splash out of the cup.
But it does make a decent cup of coffee, so for the money I’d say it’s worth the price.

I’ve been using this for a month now so updated my review. This is quite narrow, but also quite tall, which means when attaching the funnel handle you need to hold onto the base firmly to stop it tilting over (personally I’ve found placing a hand on the drip tray the best). Initially I was disappointed with the coffee this was producing, as it was to me too watery for my taste, more like an americano than an espresso… But you can adjust the length of time (hence amount of water), this uses each time, once I adjusted it to a shorter time I’m now getting good quality espresso to my preference.
The manual is worth a read, it’s quite detailed and covers all the features quite clearly, and adjusting the amount of water made a big difference for me. There are two coffee brewing cups supplied, single and double.
I tested the milk frother and it worked well, but personally I use a separate rotating heated milk frother, so won’t be using the one built in, although I ca attest it works well

I’ve not had a coffee maker before, but in layout, it’s similar to the tassimo drinks maker I have – there’s a water tank on the back and coffee comes out at the front. You do need to read the instructions for how to add the coffee and use the milk frother, but you soon get the hang of it. I’m not an espresso person, but the cappuccino comes out great. It doesn’t take up much room on the kitchen worktop either, and it looks smart. Easy to clean – the drip tray comes out for washing and everything wipes down and can be rinsed through. Worth it if you like to drink fancy coffee regularly. Remember to buy some appropriate coffee cups, if you don’t already have them.
