I’m very happy with this washing machine, and was glad to have next-day delivery when my elderly machine gave up. The one thing it doesn’t cater for in its automated dosage system (for detergent and softener) is laundry bleach, which I like to use. I am using the detergent drawer for this as I use tabs in the drum for detergent, but since it thinks the detergent is in the drawer, and takes what it thinks is the required dosage, it doesn’t take all of the two capfuls of bleach. But in fact there’s no noticeable difference. A fuller explanation of the programmes than is given in the booklet would be helpful, though as always one acquires familiarity with the different settings by trying them out (personally I shall nearly always use the ‘mixed’ setting, with a colour-catcher strip just in case I’ve added something that will dye the other items). The dosage drawer says ‘1600’ but as far as I can see the maximum spin is 1200 – quite sufficient for my purposes, as it happens. I haven’t bothered trying to apply the door – the does look like a bit of a palaver and the machine would in any case stick out a bit, being deeper than its predecessor (but I’m happy with the machine on display).
