Was a good choice. I think it will last the test of time. Got it for my son in high school.

I actually can’t believe how good the condition is of the laptop. I would not hesitate to buy again – also you get Amazon 1 year guarantee which you don’t if you use the usual refurb shops.
Steve Eldridge –
I’m really pleased with this laptop, it’s condition as new and high spec

Always been an HP Computer Fan since Day Dot. I Purchased my Second-User Elitebook 840 G£ through Amazon to give me the Warranty Guarantee and an assurance that I am dealing with total credibility. I wanted something Middle of the Road Performance Wise to replace my old Compaq. The Elitebook is Acting as a “Slave” on my Network. I have attached an HP Keyboard and Mouse and it will Operate “Lid Closed” under a Plinth working in Tandem with a Top Class Fujitsu Lifebook Machine which is it’s Master on my Network. The Machine Arrived Next Day, really well Packaged by F7CORE LTD. On First examination after I had thoroughly Cleaned and Sanitised it (it needed a good clean) The Machine was Absolutely as New in Appearance not even a slight mark or scratch anywhere, so really impressed. I examined the screen thoroghly from all angles and could find not the slighest mark or scratch anywhere albeit it is attached to a 24″ HD Dell Monitor now in Operation. The Machine was Top Class! The Windows 10 Pro Version came with one Admin User “X” which i found a bit Bizarre. I expected to find the Machine Returned to Default. The Machine was also well out of Date Version wise and took me half a day setting myself up as Admin and Removing the Stuff I didn’t want. (Bit of a pain, i wouldn’t do it that way?) I was Actually two version changes behind the Wonderful Drayhorse of Windows Updates. Laborious or what? The Machine came with 16GB of RAM DDR4 (Maximum) which was also a key point for Buying it for the Upgrade and Great for my Purposes. The 250GB SSD is bit basic but no concern in my Network with three 2TB Servers to Access for Backup. The Intel 2.4ghz Chip has been really good, quicker than i thought. I revved it up to 2.8ghz and Ran it all Day without any noise or heat. I carried out All my Set up and Testing on Battery which Lasted 9 hours! and doing a lot of Search work. I had it Running at Max CPU Non-Stop, the Machine Ran completely silently on Battery under Intense Load I chucked everything at it – over 8GB of software resident and the Battery started to warn me after 9 hours which i thought was impressive. It gave me a 1 hour warning. I found the Speakers a Bit Average but the Soundcard under Headphones quite good. I found the Screen itself to be quite Average but again Excellent though my HD Dell 24″ Momitor. The Intel Cards are good quality. I thought the keyboard was fine and has quite solid keys but good to touch in use. The Mousepad worked really well although i wont be using either. I am using VGA on the HP and Displayport from the High Spec Fujitsu and Honestly you can hardly tell the Difference Graphics are Good HD. I have Tested it Running Streamed Movies and Music and it is Faultless and ran them both together just to Load Test it, no problems whatsoever, where the extra RAM comes in to play. So! for the money – A No Brainer provided i get a couple of years wear and tear I will regard it as excellent value for money. Being a six or seven year old machine which Retailed at around £1.5k to £2k it is Great Value. The only Issues are with Windows 10 can anyone work how to Sleep it? and Work?? it’s called progress when it used to be childs play. Whoever Developed Windows 10? I have no hesitation to recommend the HP Elitebook for Home or Business. I dont hink the Spec would be any real value for Gamers. I hope this Life Story is useful to somebody. Long Live the Elitebook! Cheers!

This is a second-hand laptop and arrived well packaged, clean and ready to go with OS installed. The only negative is that it has an “American” keyboard, with the ‘@’ key being in the ‘wrong’ place. A quick look online told me where to find it. Apart from that, I have not found any other issues.

This laptop is as good as new. I used to have one for work and really liked it. This is just as good, really fast and does all I ask of it.

HP 14-inch EliteBook 840 G3 Ultrabook – Core i5-6300U 16GB DDR4 256GB SSD.
Left hand shift button and control key did not work….pity because everything else was working well but found it too annoying.
Received full refund including delivery and return postage costs.
Rated 5/5 as I’m guessing I was just a bit unlucky and was refunded quickly – would have taken a replacement if offered.
