Great tool, love it, but the head has to be secured better. Mine came off after just a little use. Be ready to fix it.

I cut and split a lot of firewood and am adding a Husqvarna picaroon to my arsenal of tools…Came well packed and undamaged. The hickory handle has nice vertical grain, no knots or flaws and the pic head is sharp and properly angled to bite well into a log for handling. Like the rest of my Husqvarna tools, great bang for the buck. Varnish on handle will go bye-bye to be replaced by linseed oil but understand why maker does that and no knock on Husqvarna. You can spend more for similar tools but why. Husqvarna is made to work.

this is a genuine sappie/hookaroon/pickaroon. logger – firewood approved………not the cheap-recycled steel Chin*** knockoffs. Those others are not worth the frustration. This is my 5th pickaroon and all are still working. Some vintage, some new…….all USA or German made.

This tool penetrates into dense chunks of hardwood like maple. The tip is just the right shape to stick reliably, but it releases easily too with a twist of the wrist. I wish I had one of these long ago, but better late than never.
