After searching online for a decent, value for money and reliable lawnmower, i settled for the Hyundai HYM430SPR.

I didnt want to go back to an electric mower as i’d always had issues with them, and trust me, iv’e tried most brands.

This mower was easy to put together, the instructions were pretty straight forward and theres even a video of how to do it on YouTube if you want help.

It is quite a heavy unit but being self propelled, you don’t really feel the weight once you start mowing.
I was very impressed with the cut and collection of this mower, it didn’t leave any cuttings behind and the collection bag held a lot more cuttings than i expected it to.

Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase and hopefully, it’ll last a while.

Well if I said I was impressed with the mower it would be an understatement, its a wicked machine, on par or slightly above the Mountfield range, I’ve used a lot of mowers in the past this little machine is the business, it ran perfectly left a classic stripe. Can’t say anymore its so easy to set up and use, not getting any younger the balance of weight is fine no difficulty in manoeuvring when turning to cut the next length.
Great product, id say yes to this mower.

I bought the self propelled version, Pull start, Line striper…… well what can I say, Easy to assemble, starts every time, Leaves stripes, collects grass…. Some reviews stated too heavy, Its not a Hayter ect, If you want a Hayter pay all the extra cash out, but for me this does everything a Hayter can do, just a bit cheaper. I’m very happy indeed, its a great mower, so glad I bought it….. Top marks, for a carefully thought out machine…. Yes its heavy, but you need a good weight to assist with the lines…… Cutting my lawn is great, father in law always comments on how good it looks… 🙂

The media could not be loaded.

Bought this thinking it would be a good budget mower for my pretty modest sized garden. Very straightforward to put together but feels cheaper than it should. First mow with it was disappointing. Struggled with taking about a cm off the lawn (dry day with no moisture on the lawn). Cuts out over thicker patches and when it’s not cutting out it’s dumping grass everywhere instead of in the basket at the back which is tiny and the hole for the cut grass to exit the mower is far too small. Tried it again thinking It was first mow issues but even worse second time around. Could barely do one line without it cutting out as a result of thicker grass (not long just denser lawn) or the mower getting clogged up and stopping the blade. Will be offloading as soon as I can.

    PROS:
The self-propel drive works well and it is not too fast.
Probably ideal for very good lawns with short grass.
Grass basket is strong and easy to remove
    Makes really nice stripes.

    CONS:
    Struggles badly with long grass.
    It’s heavy.
Difficult to start. Sometimes takes 5 or 6 pulls to start and sometimes very hard pulls (so not for elderly clearly).
You have to let the engine switch off when emptying the grass basket – this is a nightmare because it is awkward to start up again. Thus it takes more time to do a lawn constantly stopping and starting.
It spits out grass sometimes when the basket is not full, even if airflow is checked – still don’t know why but it’s unaccaptable that a mower can’t collect the grass it cuts.
Seems to use a lot of oil.

Only recommended for plush lawns, not everyday lawns.

Took just 5 minutes to assemble, was up and running in a few minutes more. A heavy machine but the self propelled function has alot of speed! Effortless to push though, gives a nice cut. Just looking forward to better weather and longer grass so I can see what this thing really can do!!

Mower was mostly pre-assembled – only the handles and throttle cables need to be assembled. Handles are a little bid fiddly as the upper tube section is not bent to directly match the lower section. Throttle cables were a little fiddly to engage but were eventually clipped home.
Used the mower on long and short grass – if it does not start 1st time it does on the 2nd chord pull- engine sounds reassuring powerful. The speed of movement when used in self propelled mode seems a little slow – I’ve mostly push for the time being which still stripes the lawn – the self propel function might prove useful for my partner.
Only grumble is the lack of ability to vary handle height / length – a couple more holes in the mounting brackets and tubular handrails would have been a nice touch.
