   So I did a lot of research on this product before purchasing; the problem is everyone has a their on take on this product; it’s all down to personal preference.

   I have no issues with the sound; it’s amazing! I listen to all different types of rock/punk/grunge and the occasional D&B. The base on this speaker is so powerful it vibrates my floor!

   I honestly didn’t know why I was giving this a second guess. My car has JBL speakers as a standard!

   I have one issue and that’s getting to the charging port; it’s pretty tight to open.. (but it is to prevent water from getting in)

   Definitely brilliant value for money on this as I did get it pretty much half price (not a Black Friday deal either)

   No gimmicks. Very solid speaker that plays music at a good quality. Not the world’s best, but obviously that’s why there’s more expensive speakers out there. There is no distortion at all at the highest volume and all the frequencys too. The bass is slightly less there compared to the other frequencies but it’s still very prominent.

   Main reason I’m taking a star off is because theres a delay from when you play the audio and it’s played on the speaker. This shouldn’t be a problem to most people but I was hoping to use it like a normal speaker for my PC and even though there’s an improvement when plugged in compared to Bluetooth, the 1 second delay makes it unusable as a media speaker.

   Overall I totally love it. It’s loud, sounds good, durablez and convenient which is all I want in a speaker

   Great sound – although I boost the bass even more with the Apple Music EQ. Also this is more of a ‘front-facing’ speaker, with average sound out of the rear side – unlike others which cover multiple sides or 360 degrees.

   Great battery life – done about 6 hours on full volume so far with still 2 bars left to use so prob could get to 8 hours on full volume tbh,

   Solid design and build and I love the passive speakers on the side – love watching them to see the bass make them roll and pump in and out! Sexy.

   Strap is a nice addition for outdoors too.

   …immer man ist. Wir haben die Box vor ca. 2 Jahren an unseren Sohn verschenkt. Immer noch häufig im Gebrauch, z.B. beim Outdoor Basketball-Platz. An der Box ist praktisch “nix dran”. Sehr gute Qualität, der Kauf hat sich wirklich gelohnt.

   Die Wasserdichte möchte ich nicht ausprobieren, die Tonqualität ist sehr gut hatte auch nichts anderes erwartet von JBL 🙂 die Akkulaufzeit ist exzellent. Mit Kabel ist die Qualität nochmal besser da so eine bessere Leistung der Box erzielt wird.

   I must say this is really extremely good speaker

   What is good:
   +strong bass
   +loudness
   +bluetooth connection without problems
   +clear sound
   +good for low volume listening too (couldnt do that with UE)
   +built quality
   +good quality straps
   + BEER opener built in
   + 3.5 audio jack
   +you can charge devices(phone, tablet, etc)
   +water resistant( so you can use it without problem in bathroom)

   What is bad:
   -not suitable to watch movies unless you download some 3rd party shady app to generate sound in background otherwise it will turn of for saving battery
   -cant turn of automatic standby which is so effective that it will turn off speaker even after 1 second of silence
   -back lid is super tight and strong which covers ports and makes itdifficult to open and often it is very painful experience and big fight though i understand that it is built to be water resistant but still it could be designed better and easier to open 🙂

   In overall it is excellent speaker with just few design flaws. I would buy it again. Recommended!

   Die JBL Xtreme 2 ist rund um Gelungen. Sie hat guten Sound und richtig Bums. Wenn man sich bisschen mit Akustik auskennt und sie gut im Raum positioniert verstärkt sich der Bass nochmal deutlich. Der Akku ist riesig und man kann sehr lang Musikhören, auch die Ladezeit kann sich sehen lassen.

   Sie ist zwar nicht die Leichteste und kleinste Bluetooth Box aber für den Sound und die Lautstärke ist das ein Guter Kompromiss. Der Stoffbezug ist gut verarbeitet und der Praktische Tragegurt lässt sich einfach entfernen. Zudem bietet JBL diese Party funktion an mit der man mehrere JBL Lautsprecher verbinden kann, da ist das schon beeindruckend wenn man Kumpels einlädt und dann einfach mal 6 Xtreme 2 die Stube zerlegen.

   Das einzige was schade ist ,ist die JBL Xtreme 2 nicht synchron mit anderen JBL Fremden Bluetooth Lautsprechern ist, auch nicht über AuX.
   Der Preis, ist für die Qualität, die Leistung und den Service/Support wenn was nicht geht, fair.
   Würde mich jederzeit wieder für ein JBL Produkt entscheiden.

   Was a little sceptical about paying this amount for a Bluetooth speaker without being able to listen to it first. I really wanted something that was going to deliver in terms of bass without having to blast the thing at full volume. Have to say I am not disappointed and the product delivers in every respect. The clarity and balance of bass/treble is perfect and I’ve been using it as lot with only minimal discharge of battery. I think it will get the claimed playtime of around 15 hours. Great product and glad I spent a bit more to ensure I got something a bit special! It does feel very solid made as well, so hopefully will last for years to come.

    Arrived in good condition and timely manner. Without reading instructions (in my view is part of the test to see how well designed the product is for the consumer if the custoner didn’t have to read the instructions) I tried to top up the battery charge by plugging in the cable which came with JBL Flip 4 and Charger 3. When it didn’t charge, it was only after then did I look further into the box. The charger is a big lump which I did not expect to see on a consumer product such as this Xtreme2. The charger is the size of the charger of my laptops. It is a good thing I did not have plans to bring this speaker to my work assignments. 1 Star lost.

    With the first CD played (the files were transposed MP3’s at max sampling size), the music did not sound good. So I left the laptop and speaker to continue playing while I went to do noisy DIY jobs. The following days and albums sounded better, much improved as compared to the first day. Clearly this speaker needed burn-in. For this review I would suggest it needs a week or even 100 hours to burn-in.

    The following few weeks I noticed the music sounded brilliant (the quality reminded me how the music sounded through the floor standing speakers of the hi-fi system (but which my other half won’t allow installed in the main lounge (which is the purpose of this Xtreme2, to replace the music I had not been listening))) depended very much on the source material. Linda Ronsadt Greatest Hits vol.1 &2 must have been recorded in the days of LP’s (but which I transferred from a CD) sounded wooly. Mary Black sounded crystal clear and strong with most of her CD’s. If I closed my eyes when listening to Gloria Estefan Oye Mi Canto – Los Exitos I could imagine I was right there in the streets of Cuba.

    Apart from the smaller JBL’s I also have two Ultimate Ears Boom 2. Of these Bluetooth enabled speakers it is the Xtreme2 which is my favourite at the moment. Yes, some music played thorugh it sounded poor but most are given a semi decent stereo audio image from a relatively small package. The bass is much stronger as well as very controlled than the smaller the smaller Bluetooth speakers. It may be superior to the book shelf speakers I have kept from 30 years ago. The pleasure of listening to it when I am unable to listen to music through the Hi Fi system is that it has brought back all the bass notes abscent in many headphones and smaller bluetooth speakers. It is such an honest speaker that any poor recordings or modern ones which have the bass extra boosted with the intention of customers playing music through headphones sound poor to very poor when played though this Xtreme2.

    In summary, this speaker won’t replace the Hi Fi when playing Mozart or Bach’s Brandenburgh Concertos but it is a good substitute I am unable to listen to music via the Hi Fi system.

    Still haven’t read the instructions to confirm but the metal attached to the shoulder strap is a bottle opener.

    For $200 you won’t beat this speaker. The same speaker advertised on Amazon in English is $350. Get it while you can!
