Good value air fryer. Nothing special but a well done basic air fryer. Easy to use, cooks just fine and although small it is big enough for a single person or maybe someone whos single with a child.

I’ve had a judge product before- they’re a honest budget brand with an eye for great value, not fancy but effective. The same is seen here- for the 50gbp price the performance is very good and the air-fryer is of good manufacturing quality and good materials for the price.
Effectively the size means this is best used for a smaller family or singletons, the 4L looks large and will do a ready meal, plate of chips or jacket potato ( microwave it first- its’ more efficient) and similr, but try to do 2 things att he same time and it gets full very quickly, the ovalled square shaped basket however is far more flexible than the more rounder ones and you may use silicon trays to segregate tastes when cooking multiples.
The outer casing is finished in a premium sleek, piano black plastic and the basket handle has a chromed panel to add more style, it’s easy to use but do get used to cooking with an air fryer as it is somewhat different and early days you may find having a cooking thermometer close by is really helpful as these generally do cook faster and you should reduce your times accordingly. This isn’t as fast as our other one, but it also far cheaper and smaller-it’s therefore great to see if you like what an air-fryer will do- spoilers, you won’t go back to an oven for many things once you seen how flexible this is!
The controls are very simple- for this price don’t expect LED or touch screens, a simple rotary temperature knob and a clockwork timer. All you really need- it doesn’t have alternative cooking methods such as bake or grill, but it does some elements quite well if you look at the instructions and work out the methods, I did find the timer ticking a little intruding, but the fan isn’t a very quiet one so it masked it. It was also noticeable if you took out the basket, the heating and fan stopped but the clock didn’t, so try to be quick when shaking or stirring the contents mid way through the cooking cycle.
Overall nothing bad to say about it, honest, cooks and fries well, not bling but effective and very good value, especially for a newcomer or first home when space is vital on the worktop. One extra tip, when cooking some foods, especially trays, get a sheet of foil and make into a strip so you can lift out the cooking food trays, it gets hot to the touch otherwise- this is mainly due to the deep basket and close walls making access difficult- every tower type will have the same issue- so it’s not a Judge one solely.

For an air fruer this product does the job but it does have it’s minor issues.
The drawer is almost as large as the two compartments on my big brand named fryer so that is a positive thing. The fryer cooks in around the same amount of time and the results are similar.
Although this fryer performs as good as a big brand named one it is very noisy. The fans are loud enough to hear in other rooms, unlike my other fryers which are almost silent.
The body of this air fryer appears a bit too plasticy and it is not digital. When using this fryer I made sure that I was constantly checking it and there is good reason. Recently there was a warning from the London Fire Service regarding cheap plastic air fryers and the dozens of fired they caused last year.
Sticking with the LFS warning, fires shouldn’t be an issue if people simply stuck to the same rules as when oil / fat fryers and chip pans were used. When cooking one should be in the kitchen keeping an eye on things. Easier said than done as too many people today throw food into microwaves and air fryers then immediatelt leave the kitchen unattended to get back to their social media and that is the real issue. It’s not the products, it’s how people use them and how they don’t watch them. Even cooker hobs cause fires but depending on wether somebody is observing or not depends on the amount of damage caused.
Although there has been a warning about cheap air fryers I do believe this product is perfectly safe to use, even with the noisy fan that is as loud as an upright vacuum cleaner prior to the EU legislation that regulated the decibel levels. However when using this I do advise that the user uses common sense and doesn’t leave the appliance unattended for more than one or two minutes at a time, just as one wouldn’t with a chip pan or oil / fat fryer.
Sadly I am not going to recommend this product unless one is really on a strict budget and can tolerate the noise as I personally would rather save a few more £10s, buy a branded one that runs quietly and is actually digitally controlled rather than using manual nobs. Digital appliances are more likely to have safety built into them so they will cut the power if there is any overheating, unlike these mechanicaly controlled ones.
The quality of the product is reasonable good for the price but for myself I don’t find something that can’t be used at night as it will disturb others, possibly even neighbours, so I don’t find it good value.

This is a fantastic 4lt air fryer. The drawer is a really good size. The controls are brilliant and extremely simple to use, the top dial is the timer and the bottom dial is the temperature, there are no complicated or distracting suggested timings or temperatures which can be confusing on more advanced air fryers.
This makes an excellent choice if you’ve been thinking of trying an air fryer but are a bit daunted by them, also although it only has one drawer you could separate it out using silicone liners which would allow you to cook more things at once.
Best of all, this air fryer is so much more efficient and cheaper to run than a conventional oven and it’s lots faster too. I wouldn’t be without it now!
