Only received product a week ago at first impression seemed great but already experiencing fluctuations in power supply will have to resolve with support

At £200 (time of review), the VC4 is an all-round good, cordless vac. Won’t win any awards and nor is it a 5 star category winner, but it does the job. After using the device for a week, my thoughts on its pros and cons are as follows:-

    Positives
    – Ultra lightweight (2Kgs) and easy to manoeuvre
    – Charge lasts for a full 30 mins (unlike some)
    – build quality, typical Karcher (i.e. very good)
-excellent hard floor, rotating brush (great for wooden floors, tiled surfaces)
-overall good suction but not class leading
    – the quietest vac I’ve ever used!

    Negatives
    – No on/off button, you have to hold or lock the power trigger (which is tricky at times)
    – Needs the “boost” setting for max performance
    – Bit short on accessories (only one small brush and crevice tube included ) and no onboard storage for the attachments (which is a pain)
    – Awkward to charge as in the device can easily topple when upright, so best to charge level unless using the wall attachment
    – suction not as good as anticipated for a Karcher device

So, all in, like a lot of Karcher devices, this does a lot right but is let down but a few design flaws and less than mind blowing performance. That said, £200 is actually quite cheap for a device of this build quality and for its whisper silent operation and ultra lightweight form, it’s an overall positive but, but guarded recommendation and 3.5 stars from me.

I found the Karcher VC 4 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner to be decent. It may not have that appeal factor nor fancy features, but it gets the job done. In the package, you get a motorised universal floor head, a 2-in-1 upholstery nozzle, a crevice nozzle, a wall mount bracket, wall plugs/screws, and a charger.

The vacuum is a good weight and easy to hold when used as a handheld. It’s also easy to manoeuvre when cleaning floors and carpets as well as under my sofas. Plus, it’s surprisingly quiet. The quality of the parts and accessories is good, and they don’t feel cheap. Everything fits well.

Using the vacuum is simple – just push the trigger, and it also has a lock function for continuous use without holding the trigger. It has two modes: low and a boost function for added power. While it may not be the most powerful vacuum, it still effectively picks up debris.

Emptying the bin and maintaining the vacuum is easy. Replacing and cleaning the filter is hassle-free as well. The battery life is good, especially on the lower suction setting, but I use it on boost mode as I find this to be more effective. There’s a battery indicator to let you know when it needs charging.

Overall, the Karcher VC 4 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is a decent option for home and car use. It won’t replace a heavy-duty vacuum or compete with my Dyson cordless, but it’s great for quick cleanups.

I really wanted to like this vacuum and when it arrived and I saw the lovely sleek design I had high hopes. With the Karcher name I expected a lot from its performance but it unfortunately fell short of the mark.
In the box you get the vacuum and a couple of accessories, including the normal vacuum head, a crevice nozzle and upholstery brush nozzle. You also get a wall mount (including screws and rawl plugs) and a charger.
The vacuum features a power button which you can press and hold , or use the lock clip to keep the power on without holding the button. There is standard suction mode and a button to switch on “Boost” mode with stronger suction. It actually runs fairly quietly, definitely the quieted one I’ve ever had so perfect for tidying up messes late at night without disturbing the neighbours.
The brush head is pretty standard. It manoeuvres very easily so you can get around tight corners or under/around furniture smoothly. The brush is a bit fiddly to remove for cleaning though. You require a screwdriver or coin etc to twist a plastic locking nut to get it out.
Unfortunately the suction performance isn’t what I would have expected from a name like Karcher and at this price point. Standard mode when you turn it on barely picks up anything so you always have to resort to Boost mode for normal everyday use. Even then it will handle hard flooring okay but is no good on carpets.
The battery life is longer than any of the other wireless vacuums I’ve owned, but constantly using Boost mode means it doesn’t last as long as it should.
Unless you use the wall attachment this does not stand on its own. The brush head doesn’t lock into upright position so it just flops over. This is also very annoying if you need to let go of it during a vacuum session because you’ll need to find somewhere to lean it without it falling over.
Overall I can tell it is well made and the design is gorgeous. It is quiet, lightweight, and easy to use, but the price (200 at time of order) is far too steep considering its lacklustre performance.

Good suction when on high power, but this setting reduces battery life.
Easy to use but would benefit from a flexible hose rather than the straight one supplied.
A reasonable weight but after a while of poking around the car it gets heavy.
    Build quality is sturdy.
You have to clean the filters often, that’s one drawback, not cleaning them reduces suction.

The vacuum itself is light and easy to use. The charging lead has stopped charging after 2 weeks, Karcher support state up to 7 days to respond and I can’t find another charging lead to buy anywhere in the meantime- not impressed!!
