   Being an old guy who had always used cylinder mowers I was uncertain about “going rotary” when my trusty electric Qualcast Elan died. But on reading the reviews of the various contenders I plumped for the LawnMaster 1600w 37cm rotary – good choice!
   Speedily delivered in a compact, well packaged box the mower looked the part. Although I’m visually impaired the steps in assembling the handle and grass box were pretty obvious and straightforward and they gave me no difficulties. (Yes, the pictorial guidance in the manual really needs to be bigger but I found a digital version of the manual on the Cleva website so printing the relevant pages to a larger size was no problem.) When finished all looked fine and in use I was not disappointed.
   Adjusting the cutting height is very easy; my lawns aren’t that flat so I chose setting 2 (30mm) and that worked fine. The LawnMaster is heavier than the old Qualcast but it’s very stable, keeps to a line and cuts well – right to the edge! And yes, the tall spiky growth that always defeated the cylinder mower disappeared like magic. The full width start/stop bar is a welcome fixture and the rear roller does give a striped effect if that’s what you like.
   Although it’s early days I’m pleased with my purchase, the mower is robust and looks good. If storage space is limited the handle is easily collapsed down over the top of the mower. The 2 year manufacture’s guarantee is a welcome addition too.

   Purchased as a replacement for my ‘dead’ electric lawn mower. Have now used this twice, the cut is excellent especially with the mulching device in place; saves emptying the grass box!!! Height adjustment is very easy. The cable length is shorter than my previous machine I now have to employ an extension. The increase in power over my previous machine is more than evident. All in all excellent value for money and build quality.

   I’ll not claim any deep or detailed knowledge of lawn mowers. I, just like most other people use them rather than assess them critically. I used this to replace a venerable Flymo which had suffer the effects of age and use. It does require some assembly, however it is not a complex task and requires little more than following instructions and tightening a clamp or two. The metal blade was a must for me as I often get wind blown detritus which I don’t always spot before going over it. Over the last year I have used this to manage a small lawn and have found that it copes very well with grass heights in excess of 5 inches without any sign of struggling. It might be able to manage greater grass lengths but I have not allowed my lawn to grow that long. It is not heavy but neither is it particularly light but the wheels make it easy to handle. There is a good range of height adjustment controlled by the handle in the photo. The collapsible grass catcher is easy to attach and has a surprising capacity. My only negative (And the reason it has one star removed) is the length of the power supply cable. It is 10 meters long and honestly would have benefited from 5 meters more.

   This is my third season using it, and it’s been performing very well. The engine remains strong, and the blade stays sharp. I assembled the upper handle piece in the opposite direction (with the safety button on the left side), which allows it to fold more easily and take up less storage space

   After using the LawnMaster 1600W Electric Lawn Mower for several weeks on my medium-sized lawn, here’s my take on its pros and cons:

   Adjustable Cutting Heights: The mower features multiple cutting height settings, which is great for adapting to different grass lengths and conditions. I found it easy to switch between settings, allowing for a customizable cut based on my lawn’s needs.
