I wanted an Oled and having done a great deal of research, I settled on LG. Well they invented the format and no other company has come close. Now my lounge is not the largest, at only 16 foot long by 12 foot wide, but hey, I am a single bloke. So I purchased the 77 inch, go big or go home. It arrived on the 30th of June 2024. I took advantage of an offer by buying it in May of 2024. Now, if you are going to purchase a TV of this size, decorate your room and, if needed put down a new floor covering. Not because of the weight of the TV, but because it is large and difficult to manoeuvre. Some of you are thinking, why such a big screen. Well I have been using a projector for the last few years and I became used to watching an even bigger screen. I purchased a new LG soundbar earlier in the year. It is the one LG made for this TV, they are available on Amazon and it is also amazing, the upfiring speakers make the voices so easy to hear, even during the action scenes. I digress, back to the TV. I have upgraded my Netflix and Disney accounts to 4k, and boy, am I glad I did. They have unlocked the potential of this product. Haven’t started season 2 of The Rings of Power yet, will rewatch season 1. See it in the way Amazon intended it to be seen. The colour gamut of the screen is beyond belief, the upscaling ability has given new life to my old Blu ray dvds. The brightness has no splash, unlike QLED. The blacks are truly black as there is no light bleed from leds lighting up pixels around it. Read up on it, it’s worth it when you spend this much on a television. Can’t comment on the sound as I have never used the inbuilt speakers, the soundbar is connected via the ARC so cuts the speakers off, I think. Having had the tele for a couple of months now I am still learning what it is capable of. The one and only one drawback is the included instructions are abysmal. LG, get your act together. You definitely need 2 of you to set up the 77 inch, again not due to the weight, purely down to the size of it. I have purchased a stand for it from Amazon, 2 metres wide, not because of the tv’s base, simply because it would look stupid on anything smaller. I am currently trying to get get my eldest to buy one for his new bungalow but his wife thinks it’s too large. They have not seen it yet. Yes it is big, but hey, buy one and you will never need to spend £15 to sit on grubby cinema seats again. You can spend it on Prime, buy the film and watch it in the comfort of your own home, pause it to use the loo, get a drink or snack, which won’t be a rip off price. There are 2 power leads coming from the TV and soundbar and the ARC lead, all neatly tucked out of sight. As you may have guessed by now, I stream everything as I have full fibre 900,a game changer. My next purchase may be a Panasonic 820 4k blu ray player as other people have told me it will really bring out the absolute best of the TV and soundbar.
This is the longest review I have ever put on Amazon but I feel that this product deserves it.
If you can’t bring yourself to buy the 77 or 83 inch, at least buy the 65 inch. If you don’t, when you see the larger screen you will regret your lack of imagination.
Don’t be fooled by the advertising of the opposition, there is only one true manufacturer of OLED, LG. For those of you who don’t know LG make most of the led screens avaliable, whoever TV you buy, they just add their own software and electronic components behind the screen.
Buy the LG Oled and thank me later.
Now on to the things Amazon feel are important. Value for money, if you just want a screen in the corner and don’t care how it looks when it is being used, then no, it’s not. But if you really want to have the best currently available, then it is worth every penny. With regard to durability, if you have small children or energetic pets, then put a lock on your lounge door, or have damn good insurance. I personally feel the build quality is excellent.
As I have stated many times in the review the performance of the screen is second to none. With regards to gaming, I cannot comment as I don’t but there are other reviews that cover that aspect.
Enjoy years of happy box watching folks.
One other comment I can make, the remote is a game changer.

Beautiful TV, loved it. But 1 month after warranty expired, large, perfectly circular, clusters of dead pixels statted to appear.

The TV is mounted high on a wall, so its not from impact or foreign matter. The perfectly semi circular nature point towards a software fault.

Further to that, neither LGs live chat support and email request forms work. Ive not tried to rining them yet, but forcing a verbal conversation, for a software issue that starts just a few weeks after the warranty ends, is really suspicious.

This is far too expensive a TV to have issues after just 13 months.
