The Maxi-Cosi Oria lightweight pushchair and carry cot ways in just over 4 kg. The carry cot is suitably protected and well packaged, which will not leave you with loads of unnecessary recyclable waste. The box contains 1 x Maxi-Cosi, 1 x mattress, 1 x mosquito cover, 1 x rain cover, 1 x Sun canopy, 1 x boot cover/ Apron and manual. When I removed the carry cot from the packaging it was in its collapsed position. I removed the mattress with the accessories and manual from inside of the carry cot. The base of the carry cot has 2 bars, 1 at each end. You have to slide the bars into position so that now the carry cot is no longer collapsed, now you have slid the bars the carry cot should be in an upright position and sturdy. To collapse the carry cot simply reverse the process so now it is convenient to store when not in use. The mattress itself has a nice thickness giving good cushioning and comfort for your baby. The boot cover/Apron had me scratching my head for a couple of minutes, trying to figure out why I could not attach it to the carry cot. As per usual the manual wasn’t very explanatory, but what you have to do is slide both zips so they are both together, then thread the zip on the right hand side of the carry cot then you can operate the zips keeping the baby cosy and protected from the elements. The canopy Hood raises and locks imposition and can be released by pressing the 2 release buttons simultaneously. The canopy Hood also is used as a carrying handle. The mosquito net sits from the canopy Hood to the foot base of the carry cot and is kept in position by securing it to either side of the canopy Hood, keeping those pesky insects out.The rain cover attaches the same way, but has a flap so you can pacify the baby when Their dummy has been misplaced. The Sun canopy is attached to a press stud on the inside of the hood either side and tilts to whatever angle you prefer to provide shade for your baby. The Maxi-Cosi is spacious well finished and perfect for those days and nights out keeping your baby snuggled and cosy. This is a Quality carry cot and being essential black it’s a perfect uni sex gift and for not showing any dirty marks.

There is no question that this is a high quality travel cot. It is a bit heavier than I would have wanted it to be but that translates into durability so it’s a bit of a trade. It clips onto and off of the accompanying frame (not included) with ease and makes for a great overnight travel cot that folds down easily. However, at £179, I can’t help but feel that new parents are being taken for a bit of a ride, as is so often the case. For £50 less this would be a 5 star item.

My son and daughter-in-law has the Maxi Cosi Pushchair and this carry cot is one of the added accessories that you can get for it. They already have other items in the range which were used for their now four year old daughter and as they have another baby on the way I thought this would be perfect for them.
This carry cot arrives in an extremely well packed box and even though it is a light weight item you can tell immediately that the carry cot is a very well made quality item. All materials used are of the highest quality the mattress is spacious, soft and looks comfortable. The cot comes with a few very useful extras such as a sun canopy, a rain cover, mosquito net and boot cover. As you can see this really is an all weather carry cot.
The carry cot is easy to fit into the framework of the Maxi Cosi pushchair and when not in use can be folded down quite small for storage. It has a high end price (£179 price correct at time of this review) however it is a good, safe quality product for your child.
