Nothing to dislike about this kettle. Pours well and easy to keep clean. A must have for pour over coffee brewing. I can highly recommend. No need to pay crazy money for a gooseneck kettle when this Melitta os so good.

I’ve been making pour-over coffee for over a decade and never even knew it was called that!! I also never knew a kettle with a special spout existed. The claims on the instruction booklet that the coffee tastes better after using water from this kettle is not necessarily true – boiled water is boiled water – but I did find it very convenient for accurate pouring and activating all the coffee properly within the filter paper. You have to use a circular motion apparently! I couldn’t do this with my regular electric kettle which also leaks all over the place. Saw a review commented that the water tasted funny but I didn’t find that at all. Also a review said the handle got hot but I didn’t find that either. It worked perfectly placed on the small ring of the gas hob. Use it with the lid on. You will know the water has boiled when steam comes out of the lid. Great kettle, simple, great design, well made, so far so good – would really recommend for pour-over coffee fans.

I purchased this gooseneck kettle for using when preparing a pour over coffee and also, to clean Japanese cutting boards.
The kettle performs both tasks with ease of use and aplomb.
I find that non-electric kettles that can be used on the stove will last far longer than those of an electric ilk. When combined with a milk thermometer, they are equally as good in obtaining a precise temperature at a fraction of the cost and are far more versatile.
The size and volume of the kettle will easily fulfil most requirements.
The kettle is easy to clean and dry and the lid is equally easy to remove and re-apply.
There is no mess when pouring, unlike more expensive electric gooseneck kettles and the flow of water is consistent and will meet your requirements when a precise pour is needed.
I recommend this kettle to those seeking to enjoy a finer cup of coffee that a pour over can offer.

The usual high quality from Melitta, excellent for slowly pouring the water gently over the ground coffee in my hand filter, spout is perfect. The water boils quickly on my induction hob where the kettle is perfectly compatible. Easy to tell when boiling, steam rises from the spout. Capacity could be a bit larger, just makes 2 breakfast cups/mugs. Looks great, happy with this purchase.

This is properly designed and as a result, it offers fully decent performance in all respects. I use it many times a day and it still makes me smile every time. I would be lost without it. Would be nice if the design also had a bigger sibling, as when I need a lot more boiling water (not very often, but it happens) I have to resort to pans etc as I will not entertain any other kettle in the home. Works really well on a Tefal “Every Day Induction Hob” too. Close fit to the minimum size allowed, but it works fine. Low spout exit and well formed spout means easy pouring and it does not drip. I So deeply appreciate this thoughtful & insightful design.

I live on a houseboat with a small kitchen. This replaced a huge tea kettle that took up too much space on my hob. Was looking for a gooseneck kettle to make pour-over coffee. First looked at a Fellow Stagg because I like the way they look, but couldn’t justify the price. This Melitta kettle is good-looking, well-made, reasonably priced and works great for making pour-overs. But best of all, I love the way it looks on my stove in my kitchen!

It does a decent job. It works on an induction hob. It is a little loud and jumpy when boiling, which is a little strange. It does what I need to do though, so 4 stars.
